The South Riverdale Little League: Welcome
The South Riverdale Little League is a small community based organization dedicated to making good citizens of children through the positive effect of Little League baseball. Our league subscribes to the belief that the program offers far more than simply teaching a child how to throw or catch a baseball. Incorporated as a not for profit it celebrated its Silver Anniversary as a chartered Little League in 2005. Committed to the children of the community it is our goal to provide a safe and positive recreational program for boys and girls without regard to their financial ability to participate in the program.

The T Ball and PW program meets every Saturday between 8:30am and 10:30am at Seton Park. Each weekend after the teams assemble there will be a group meeting at the center of the park. The Commissioner of the T Ball and PW Divisions will lead the players in stretching and the introduction of a new skill. The teams will then break up and go to the field they are assigned for the day to practice until 9:10am. At that time the field should be set up by the coaches for a game to be concluded at 10:30am. The game rules can be found in the Local Rules for the respective divsions. Please consult your team schedule for the field assignments. The schedules on the web site can be printed to hard copy.
If the weather is such that the fields are unplayable or present a danger to the players, games will be cancelled. When possible, cancellations will be posted as the lead note on the home page. Coaches should check the web site before heading out to the fields if the weather is prohibitive. If the information is not posted on the home page please contact your division commissioner.

There are 6 divisions open to children based on age, skill-level and interest. All ages quoted refer to the age the child will be on April 1,2012.
T-Ball (for girls and boys): this is open to 5 year olds and first time 6 year olds. T-ball is loosely structured and not appropriate for any children who already have any significant baseball experience. No score is kept; there are no outs and each child bats every time the team is up.($125)
Pee-Wee (for girls and boys): this is open to 6 year olds, first time 7 yearolds and 8 year olds who are not yet ready for kid-pitch baseball. In Pee-Wee there is a friendly adult pitching. No score is kept, but the children play regular baseball. ($125)
Minor League (for girls and boys): this is open to 8-10 year olds. A 7 year old may be admitted on a case-by-case basis. The kids pitch and play a competitive game with an emphasis on skills acquisition. Wins and losses are recorded. There will be playoffs at the end of the season. ($130)
Softball (for girls only): this is open to girls from 8-16. After last year's successful season we are hoping to have more girls this season. This is slow-pitch softball. The kids pitch and play a competitive game with an emphasis on skills acquisition. Wins and losses are recorded. There will be playoffs at the end of the season. ($130)
Major League (for girls and boys): this is open to 10-12 year olds. The kids pitch and play a competitive game with an emphasis on skills acquisition. The level of play is generally much higher than that in the Minors. Wins and losses are recorded. There will be playoffs at the end of the season. ($145)
Senior League (for girls and boys): this is open to 13-16 year olds. The kids pitch and play a competitive game with an emphasis on skills acquisition. Sixteen year olds are not permitted to pitch. Wins and losses are recorded. There will be playoffs at the end of the season. ($145)
