AED TRAINING AND UPDATE

  • Starting with the upcoming spring season, all youth baseball leagues that use an athletic field permit issued by NYC Parks are now required by NYC Law to have both an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and a person who has completed a nationally recognized AED training course present at all times for both games and practices.

  • What this means for SRLL is this - there must be at least one adult certifed to use the AED at all practices and games for each team.  Violating these rules could result in SRLL permanently losing athletic field permits.

  • SRLL has teamed up with NYC Parks Department to get all of our coaches and any volunteers who wish to be certified free AED and CPR training.
  • All head coaches must become AED certified.  We encourage all coaches and volunteers to come out for the free training.
  • Training will be held at PS24 (660 W.236TH ST.) in the cold lunch room on SUNDAY FEBRUARY 26th from 10am-2pm.
  • This training will be in addition to the coaches meeting and team drafts for minors, majors and seniors.

  • Please send an email to Peter Gauss ASAP at vongauss@yahoo.com to reserve your spot.  We need to let the instructors know how many people to plan for.  Please let us know as soon as you can.

PEE WEE AND TEE BALL INFORMATION:

The T Ball and PW program meets every Saturday between 8:30am and 10:30am at Seton Park.

Each weekend after the teams assemble there will be a group meeting at the center of the park. The teams will then break up and go to the field they are assigned for the day to practice until 9:10am.

At that time the field should be set up by the coaches for a game to be concluded at 10:30am.

South Riverdale Little League is a 501c3 Organization, which prides itself in providing recreational little league opportunities for all eligible boys and girls of Riverdale and it's surrounding communities. The goal at SRLL is to provide an encouraging environment and enhance the skill set of the players as they develop through the games of baseball and softball.

Our parents bare much of the financial burden for supporting their children in these endeavors. Through your generous contribution, the league will be publically supported to provide the proper equipment, uniforms, league/umpire/tournament fees, and additional team expenses.

We thank you in advance for your consideration and time. We will gladly provide donation letters with the tax ID information upon request.

Any contribution you provide will help make the SRLL 2017 experience an even more positive and memorable one for each player!

Please feel free to contact us with any questions.

Regards,

Peter Gauss and Pat Kenny
