Play ball!
I would like to thank
Southport/Oak Island Dixie
Youth Baseball for an outstanding
opening day ceremony on
March 31. Being asked to throw
out the first pitch was truly a
highlight for me.
The fields were well groomed.
The concessions were delicious.
The teams were organized. The
coaches were enthusiastic. The
uniforms looked nice. The pictures
were done quickly and professionally.
Everyone was having
a great time at the ballpark.
The time and effort put in for
the youth of the area did not go
unnoticed. As a parent of two
children involved, I appreciate
countless hours sacrificed to give
my children a great place to play
baseball. As a coach, I enjoyed
watching future Cougars being
taught fundamentals of the
game and having fun playing the
greatest sport in the world.
To all the coaches, sponsors,
and volunteers: Thanks.
See you at the field, and “Go
Cougars!”
