SENIOR SOFTBALL FINISHES IN CENTRAL REGION'S FINAL FOUR AFTER CAPTURING STATE TITLE
2009 Michigan State SB Champions

SPLL's Senior girls won the State Championship Tuesday after defeating Mattawan in the best-of-three championship series after both teams went 5-1 in pool play. In the Central Region tournament Portage went 2-1 in pool play but was defeated by Ohio 8-3 in the semi-final. Awesome run girls!

9-10 Softball All-Stars completed All-Star play Wednesday with a loss to Tecumseh in the State tournament. Our girls made it to the final 6 teams out of 16 in the tournament.

11 year old baseball All-Stars completed All-Star play Wednesday at the State tournament after losing to Midland in the quarterfinals.

Our Major baseball All-Stars concluded All-Star play Wednesday at the State tournament after losing to Commerce.

Senior baseball finished 2nd in the Michigan tournament after earning the District 2 crown. Our Senior boys went 2-1 in pool play and earned a berth in the double-elimination championship bracket. We lost the first bracket game to District 1 Midland Association on Sunday, then beat Western LL and Saginaw Township to get into the championship against Midland. Midland was too much today and beat our seniors 11-0.

If this news isn't current please have your manager or someone from your team send updates to webmaster@southportagell.com. Unfortunately results are hard to find and the District and State websites are way behind on several tournaments.
