South Portage Little League: 2013 Divisions

Minor Baseball
The principal objectives of Minor Baseball are FUN for the kids and INSTRUCTION in the basic fundamental skills of baseball (throwing, hitting, fielding, running bases, etc.). In this league, coaches pitch to the players. Competition and winning are de-emphasized.

This league is for players ages 7-8. Some 6-year olds may play in this league if their skills are sufficiently advanced. Consult the Minor Baseball Director.


Little Major Baseball
For players ages 9-10 years. Selected 8-year olds with advanced skills can play up in this league, but will need to attend the skills assessment ("tryout"). It is the judgement of the Managers along with the Little Major player agent as to whether an 8-year old player will be allowed to play in this league. Contact the Little Major player agent for additional details.

Junior Baseball
League age 13-14 play in this league.

This is the first year of playing on a full-size baseball diamond.


Senior Baseball
League age 14, 15 and 16 years old play in this division.

14 yr olds have a choice of playing in either Sr. or Jr. Baseball divisions.


Big League Baseball
League age 16, 17 and 18 year olds play in this division.

16 yr olds have a choice between Sr. Baseball or Big League baseball divisions.


Major Baseball
Players age 11-12 years old; 10-yr olds with advanced skills can play in this league. Contact the Major Baseball player agent for additional details.

T-Ball: Baseball
Ages 5 -6 and first year 7 year old boys (and girls by request) play in the T-Ball Baseball Division. Players bat off the tee throughout the season and a softer ball is used. Players will be assigned to teams by the T-ball Baseball Player Agent. The primary objective is fun and learning the fundamentals!

Teams will be formed in March.
Players can meet their Manager and Team mid March.
Practices will start in April.
Games will start April 24th and conclude on or before June 26th.
