Freetown Semi Recap
Well, we didn't play our best game against Westport and it cost us. They were a very good team though, and we had another great run! We also got to play on Little Fenway, which I hope everyone enjoyed. You all did your best and that is all we can ask for!
Great job of not giving up in the end. With 2 quick outs, it was great to see you all cheering on your teammates and starting up the rally against a very good pitcher. He was throwing really well and you all jumped all over him. In the end, they squeaked it out, but it was nice to watch you all fight to the end. Great job out there!
We have a busy week this week with practice on Tuesday night at 6pm at the MRA-Softball field. After that, we play our first game in the Bourne tourney on Thursday night at 7:30pm under the lights!! That should be fun. You'll have to rest up so you won't fall asleep on the field, because we might not end our game until 9:30pm. Should be fun. Our second game will be Friday night at 5:30pm on the same field in the Bourne tourney. After that, we'll figure out the next game on either Saturday or Sunday depending on our seeding in the playoff round. Everyone makes the playoff. Let's have some more fun in our last tourney of the season!

Freetown Tourney-Day 2 recap
Well, yesterday was a very long day for sure! I was in bed by 9:30 last night because I was so exhausted. I sure you kids were too. Our day was a mix of good and bad play, but all in all, the result is we are playing for the championship today on Little Fenway!
The first game saw our pitching and defense shut down the offense of Freetown 3-0. Our own offense wasn't what we are used to, but they made some plays on us and we are happy to get the win against the hosts. Jack, Jenna and Jeremey combined on a 1 hit shutout. Devin had a couple hits and Ryan K swung the bat well, in addition to a bunch of others. It is great to get the production we are seeing from the bottom of the lineup. You could all hit anywhere in this lineup! This game made us 2-0, and after Rochester beat Halifax, we were guaranteed a spot in the semi-finals, just like last weekend.
Againt Rochester, we tried a couple of new pitchers, which put some of you in fielding spots you haven't played much. It showed as we played our worst game of the season so far in this one. Rochester had some decent bats, but nothing we can't handle. We fell asleep a bunch of times and let them take a bunch of extra bases when we lost our concentration out there. Most of you were swinging the bats great in this one, especially Jaxon and Shane, but Rochester plays good defense and it will take a low scoring, well played game to beat them. If we see Rochester again in this tournament, I hope we can show them how we play baseball! I will chalk this one up to being at the field at 8:30am and then having to sit in that hot sun for 4 hours waiting to play the last game. Like the last at bat, or the last pitch even, we forget that one and move on!
Let's get to the final and win a championship today!

Freetown Tourney-Game 1 Recap
Another great game folks. What a fun place Freetown is huh? It was fun to walk out and stand by the Green Monster. We aren't scheduled to play on that field in pool play, so we have to win some games to have a chance to play there.
We started off against a Halifax team that won 4 games in the tournament they played last weekend. We gave up 2 runs in the top of the first but came out swinging! Jenna, Jaxon and Jack all hit the first pitch they saw to load the bases. From there the hits kept coming until Jacob ended the inning with a line shot down the third base line to score our 4th run of the inning and put us back on defense because of the maximum run rule. Jack mowed them down and we were right back at it in the second inning. The bottom of the lineup set us up great for Jenna and she came through with a shot up the middle that cleared the bases and saw her on third with no outs. Jaxon did his job by lining another shot up the middle to end it again with 4 runs also.
Top of the third we helped them a little by putting runners on and their number 4 hitter cleared the bases and then scored himself a while later to get the 4 runs right back. Luckily things settled down nicely from there as we scratched out one more run in the 4th, but kept them off the board the rest of the way. Jeremy came in after Shane pitched great and closed it out by striking out their 4th hitter with the bases loaded. Close one for sure!
Tomorrow we have Freetown in the first game of the day, then Rochester later in the day. After that, we'll see where we stand.

SPLL Tourney Recap
What a great tourney! After the heart stopper against Swansea LL, we ended up beating Bridgewater Cochrane 6-5 and Norwell 8-1 to close out pool play 3-0! Lots of great baseball along the way including some great pitching, fielding and timely hitting.
On Sunday, we played Taunton West in our semi-final game and lost a close one 9-7. They really hit the ball and played good defense and we didn't have the answers. We were down 9-4 to start the sixth, so we made it real close in the end, leaving the bases loaded! They were a very good team though, and you should all be proud of yourselves.
Freetown Tourney up next!

SP Blue pulls out a heart stopper to open the 8U tourney
Wow, where to start on this one? Great job tonight by all. That is a very good team that we beat tonight and we did it with defense. Man, they could hit! Ryan Kelly came in and shut them down for 2 innings though, and then Ryan Beane got the job done in the 6th to give us a chance.
The way you all didn't give up was great to watch. I think we had 2 or 3 straight batters get 2 strikes and then fought for walks. Shane Richardson's 2 run single made him star #1 of the game and Devin's clutch bunt sealed the deal and gave him the game's star #3. What a great bunt! Lots of other great plays too including Nick's stop at 2nd, Jaxon all around great play at 1st all night, and Jack's catch in left center with a throw to the plate to keep the score in reach. Everyone contributed to this win!
We need to swing the bats a little better tomorrow. Until the 6th inning, Jaxon had our only hit of the game! We need to be aggressive and get some quicker bats, but your patience brought you the win tonight. Great job and I will see you all in the morning at 10am! Check out all the new pictures under Albums also.

Great Job in the Scrimmage!
Happy 4th of July everyone. Great job by everyone at the scrimmage yesterday. Everyone was paying attention, supporting their teammates, and playing some good baseball. Mrs. Parker took a few pictures during the game yesterday, so if you want to check them out, go to the Album tab in the team site. She will be taking a lot of pictures once we start playing in the tournaments, 1 week from today! If you want her to take a few shots of your child, just let us know and she is more than happy to. Also, if you see any pictures that you don't want posted, just shoot me an email and I will take them down right away. Naturally, there are a lot of the Parker kid in there, but there are some good team shots also.
We will see everyone tomorrow's practice at Burgess field at 11am. Have a safe and fun 4th!
