2009 SPLL National League Champions - Padres!
The Championship game was held Thursday night between the Diamondbacks and Padres, it was an exciting game that came down to the last batter...great effort by both teams, with the Padres winning 5-4.
Congratulations to the Players, Coach Mike Mauro and his staff.

The NL Managers, led by Team Manager John Gavin, used the long ball - including two early blasts by the Pirates' Kurt Heine - to run away with it early. The AL Managers, led by Team Manager Jack Tamulionis (who was thrown out by Umpire Ken Zisserson while arguing a call) went down swinging and vowed to make it a game next year.

Skills Festival at MRA a big success!
The SPLL Training Committee would like to thank PSHS Coach John Peila and his staff for facilitating a very informative skills clinic at MRA on May 16th, we had great participation from the SPLL players on a beautiful Saturday afternoon for baseball.
Participants had the chance to learn baseball fundamentals from John Peila, PSHS Varsity Baseball Coach and his staff. Players recieved instruction on proper technique in hitting, fielding, throwing, and drills for Pitchers/Catchers.
Again, we thank John and his staff and are looking forward to deepening SPLL's relationship with PSHS next season, and run more events next season.
