Fall League
Due to the excellent response South Plymouth Youth Baseball will be having a Fall League this year. Please register online at www.spyb.org as soon as possible. The cost is $55.00. Players will receive a hat and jersey. If you are unable to register online, please contact Mike DelPozzo at spybinfo@comcast.net.
The league will be broken down into two divisions by age. The first division will be ages 10-12. The second will be ages 7-9. 9 year olds will be allowed to play up. 6 year olds will be allowed to play in the 7-9 division with league approval. The season will begin on September 14th and end on October 14th. Provided we have 4 teams in each division, we will be playing on both Tuesdays and Thursdays. Games will begin at 5:15 and end after 6 innings or when it becomes too dark to continue play.
Players in the 10-12 division can expect play to be similar to our American league. Parents electing to have their 9 year olds play up should be aware that some of the pitchers will be throwing in excess of 60 mph.
Players in the 7-9 year old division can expect play to be similar to our National League. This will be a kid pitched division. Players who have not yet played in the National League should understand that some kids in this age group can throw fairly hard but can sometimes be a bit erratic.
Both divisions will play by American League rules. Coaches in each division will be encouraged to try players at several different positions as the games progress. However, coaches will not play children in a position they feel could cause injury to themselves or other players. We would like to make this a fun and positive experience for all involved.

Major League Tryouts
All players ages 10-12 by April 30th 2011 not currently on a Major League team who wish to be entered in this years Major League draft must attend one of the following tryouts.
Saturday September 18th 12:00pm-3:00pm At MRA
Sunday September 19th 9:00am-12:00pm At MRA
If you are not selected in the Major League draft, you will automatically be entered in the American League draft which takes place in the spring.
