South Plymouth Youth Baseball: Welcome

 The registration deadline is March 19th. While registrations are accepted all the way to opening day, the number of teams for each division will be finalized and we cannot guarantee placement on a team.

 If you already know which division to register your child for, simply visit our web site (www.spyb.org) and click on the “Register Online” logo near the top of the page. If you would like to see a brief description of each division, click on the “Divisions” tab on the left of the page.

Coaches training for the Major, American and National League will take place on March 10th at the South Middle School from 10-12. All managers and assistant coaches are expected to attend. Local baseball instructor Bob Boutin will be speaking. Ken Zisserson will be covering SPYB rules. There will also be a representative from the umpire association who will be providing umpires for us this season.

There will also be coaches training on March 31st for the Single, Double and Triple A coaches. More details on this date will be posted to the web site when they become available.

Interested parents are welcome to attend either date.

Spring tryouts for the American (ages 10-12) and National (ages 7-9) Leagues will take place at Elmer Raymond field in Cedarville on March 17th and 18th. You must register to tryout. We will be using last names to prevent having too many people show up at the same time. Please arrive during the times scheduled for your last name on either Saturday or Sunday. Tryout times are as follows.

 National and American League draft will take place on March 22nd. Players should be notified by March 29th. If your child tries out for the National league but is not drafted, they will be placed on a Triple A team.

Lower division teams will be assigned no later than a week before opening day. You will be contacted by your child’s coach. If you have special requests in regards to team placement for a child in the Single, Double and Triple A divisions, please send them to spybinfo@comcast.net and they will be forwarded to the appropriate commissioner for consideration.

We are looking for Single-A Division ages 4 and 5 (first year players) , girls and boys.

This is an instructional division with an emphasis on fun, skill development and teamwork. Batting tees will be used for the first 6 weeks of the season with coach pitch being introduced after that.
