What is the South Jersey MSBL? South Jersey MSBL is the premier adult baseball league in the Delaware Valley and South Jersey Shore, with nearly 75 teams expected to take the field this year.
Our Delaware Valley divisions offer wood bat play at the following age groups: 18+/ 25+/35+/45+; while our Jersey Shore division offers metal bat play at both the 25+ and 35+ age groups.
All of our Spring teams generally play a Sunday schedule but we also offer a summer weeknight league. South Jersey MSBL is affiliated with the national Men's Senior Baseball League (MSBL) and the Men's Adult Baseball League (MABL).
How much does it cost? Average player costs are approximately $200 per player (includes League player registration and team-related fees for umpires, fields, etc.). Uniforms fees are not included and are determined by individual teams.
When do I have to register? Player registration must be paid to the league prior to being eligible to play. Team fees due dates determined by individual teams.
What about the games? Our Delaware Valley teams play a wood bat schedule while our 25+/35+ Jersey Shore teams play a metal bat schedule. 25+/35+/45+ teams generally play a Sunday morning schedule while our 18+ teams usual play an early afternoon schedule. Regular season runs from mid-April through the end of July/early August, with playoffs running to right around Labor Day. No games scheduled on major holiday weekends like Memorial Day and the Fourth of July. In addition, South Jersey MSBL registered players in our Sunday leagues are also eligible to play in our Midweek League (starts in early summer and runs into August), as well as our Fall League (Labor Day through late October) at no additional player registration cost.
How many games? All South Jersey MSBL teams play between 16-20 regular season games, depending on age division, with all games predominately on Sundays. Playoffs sometimes run on a Saturday/Sunday. Schedule. Most age divisions play 2-4 doubleheaders. The league also sponsors regular All-Star Games and sends teams to various area and national MSBL tournaments.
Where are games played? The league will uses a variety of township, high school, college and professional fields throughout South Jersey and suburban Philadelphia, located generally along the I-295/I-95/AC Exwy corridors.
How do our teams get our players? Our teams recruit players in a variety of ways, including ads in local newspapers, online, radio, our award-winning South Jersey MSBL website (click here) and word of mouth.
What is the level of competition? The league has many former high school and college players as well as a few former professional players. Our various age divisions are sub-divided into different competitive level divisions so that any player can find an appropriate place to play – ranging from semi-professional to recreational. Our Delaware Valley teams use only wood bats while our Shore teams play metal optional.
