Welcome to the South Hinds Youth Association Titans Football and Cheer
Football Evaluations 8/6 6:30-7:30p
Cheer Practice Starts 8/4 6pm-7:30p (every Tuesday & Thursday until games start)
both held at
Forest Hill Baseball Park
If you missed sign-ups please come to forrest Hill Park during Evaluations and register.
Tackle ages 9-12 (age as of August 1, 2015), cost $95
Flag ages 5-8 (age as of August 1, 2015), cost $75
Cost covers: Jersey, socks, and trophy. All other equipment must be purchased by the player.
Cheerleading 5-12, cost $40 (doesn't include cost of cheer Uniform- Please contact Coach Marie at firstname.lastname@example.org)
Cost covers: Registration fees and trophy. All other items are priced separately.
1. Where do I get the equipment?
a. Any sporting goods store in the metro area.
2. When is the Registration for all player and Cheerleaders?
a. Saturday July 18th and August 1st at Kroger and FH park 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
b. Saturday July 25th at Byram City Hall “Meet the Titan Event” 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
3. When is the first practice?
a. All players will need to report to Forrest Hill Park for the firstpractice August 6th 6:30 p.m.
Shorts, shirt, mouth piece and cleats only.
4. What do you need for the first day of practice?
a. Full uniform with practice jersey and mouth piece.
b. Players MUST bring their copy of Birth Certificate.
5. Is there an evaluation for Flag players?
a. Yes. During the first practice August 6th .
6. When are the games played?
a. The season should begin around September 14th. Games for Tackle and Flag football will be played on Monday, Tuesday or Thursday nights at Traceway Park in Clinton, MS or Forest Hill Park in Jackson, MS or at Country Woods Baptist Church. The regular season ends around Nov 14th.
b. All Teams will be eligible for a year end tournament.
7. When will I know what team my player is on?
a. We will have a draft sometime around August 12th or 13th following the first 2 practices. Your assigned coach should contact you that next week.
8. What do I need to do now that registration is complete?
a. Start gathering the necessary equipment that your child will need. Players are responsible for furnishing their own equipment to include helmets w/ face bars, shoulder pads and pants with pads. The league will furnish a game jersey, t-shirt, and socks. Helmets must be N.O.C.A.S.E. approved.
b. Athletic shoes or molded rubber cleats must be worn. NO screw – in or metal cleats allowed.
9. Additional Football Information:
· August 4th – Coaches meeting and certification
· August 6th and August 11th Players evaluation and practice……FH Park 6:30
· August 13th – Team Draft
· August 17th – Team practice begins
September 14 – Start of Season
November 14 – End of Season
