RULES OF THE FIELD at SOUTH GATE HIGH SCHOOL
It is the desire of the South Gate Youth Football Board of Directors to establish a 'SAFE & HEALTHY' environment for its player and cheerleader participants. Because of this, we operate a CLOSED STADIUM during practices and games. This means; players, cheerleaders, coaching staff and board members are the only officials & participants allowed onto the track & field area of the high school stadium. ALL PARENTS & SPECTATORS MUST REMAIN BEHIND CLOSED GATES FOR THE DURATION OF PRACTICE AND/OR GAMES. We appreciate everyone's help & support to do whatever we can to ensure the player and cheerleader environment is safe and controlled for everyone's benefit.
PRACTICE CHANGES IN 2008. This year we are returning to our "original" place of operation by using the Visitor Snack Bar as our main office and snack bar during the practice week. We will allow our parents and spectators access to the main track, however, you will be asked to remain seated alongside the inside fence, home or visitor bleachers. You will have walking access to and from the snack bar. We will have SGYF Officers walking throughout the practice fields to ensure there is no interference from parents or spectators during our practice hours. We invite to join us at our practice field.
AFTER PRACTICE GATHERINGS...Parents shall be allowed onto the practice field at the conclusion of your child's practice usually the last 5-minutes. Please DO NOT disrupt other teams, while walking to your child's designated practice area. Your cooperation & support is greatly appreciated! The only gates available during our practice days will be on the back side of the stadium. You will not have access to drive through the school. Please drop off and pick-up your child on Ardmore Avenue. Both gates behind the visitor bleachers will be opened for easy access onto the practice field.
PARKING, DROPPING OFF & PICKING UP...Please DO NOT drive through the stadium prior to, during or after practices/games! Please DO NOT park inside or about the stadium during practices/games! All cars must remain outside the stadium and if you are parking; please be sure you park your vehicle in the designated parking lot just outside the stadium. Please make arrangements to have your child meet you in the parking lot or other outside designated area when picking them up after practice or games. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD!!! You will receive valid parking citations from the school parking attendant if you violate this policy.
PLEASE HELP TO ENSURE WE KEEP A CLEAN FACILITY! We know this is not a state-of-the-art, modern high school facility, but it's our home! We need your help too! We have the opportunity to share the facilities at the high school because the administration has allowed us to be here. However, we are also responsible to ensure we pick-up & clean-up after ourselves at the conclusion of our practices and games. If you see it, pick-it up, and place it in the trash receptacles---every little bit helps! Thanks for your cooperation!

OCJAAF MUST-PLAY RULES
The OCJAAF has specific guidelines that enforce "MUST PLAY" rules for all players. In other words, each player-participant must meet a minimum 'playing time' on the field during games. It is a mandatory rule, and if not followed, it has both a monetary and a suspension penalty to the Head Coach. Thus, the playing time of all player-participants is followed and logged on an official 'Game Day' Roster through the Chapter Game Day Player Compliance Agents (also known as C.G.D.P.C.A.). Each football team is to provide two C.G.DP.C.A. for this purpose. [These are usually parent volunteers who do this regularly at every game]. Each C.G.D.P.C.A. will partner up with an opponents C.G.D.P.C.A., and one set will verify the Home team, and, the other, the Visitor team. Once verified and completed the 'Game Day' roster is forwarded to the OCJAAF.
