| Profile: |
Jamie Corr enters his fourth year as head coach of the War Eagles and will look to continue to climb the ladder of success the team has been on over the last few seasons. The 2008 campaign saw the program soar to new heights, reaching the sweet sixteen for the first time in AAAAA. Corr credits the work ethic of both the players and coaching staff for the accomplishments South has obtained.
“The veteran players have taken ownership of this team and have developed a winning attitude that is contagious throughout the program.”
A native of Tampa, Florida, Corr has made several stops at both the collegiate and high school levels during his 10-year coaching career. He has served as an assistant coach at Augusta State University and Darton College, and was the head coach at Riverview High School in Tampa. While always stressing academics and the importance of character, he has seen numerous players achieve great levels of success both in the classroom and on the playing field. Fourteen of his former players have been drafted by professional baseball, while 33 have moved on to either the four-year or two-year college ranks.
Corr has been a featured speaker at several clinics and camps throughout the southeast including the South Carolina and Tennessee Baseball Coaches conventions, as well as the University of Tennessee and Clemson baseball camps. He lives in Cumming with his wife Dana, son Jaxson (6) and daughter Izzy (2).
