TSN Phil: Fish Blast Rockets in 3 Straight
After a tight 2-0 win on Friday night in Raymore, the Marlins looked to sweep the series with a win back at the Fishtank on Saturday night. And the Fish knew the Rockets would not go away easily. Raymore accomplished just what they wanted when Brett Kuglin opened the scoring 5 minutes into the first period. It was the first time Raymore lead throughout the series. Tyson Sievert knotted it at 1 on a nice individual effort as he went around the Rocket d-man and took the puck hard to the net and finished it off sliding it past Fischl at the 13 minute mark. Halldy lazered one top shelf on the pp with 33 seconds to go in the period to give the homeside a 2-1 lead. With only 8 seconds to go in the period, Mack Hubick made a nice play to hold the puck in at the blue line and found a wide open Halldy parked in front of the net. After a couple of dekes, Halldy deposited into the yawning cage to give Southey a 3-1 lead. Raymore played a solid period only to get devastated by 2 late goals. Raymore would never recover from that and the Fish coasted the rest of the way. An empty netter from Tyson would round out the scoring to make it a 4-1 final and a series win of 3 games to none. The Marlins now advance to the league championship series. They await the winner of Avonlea and Wynyard. Avonlea leads that series 2-0.
