The Jan 8th showcase turned out quite a few talented ball players for the coaches to evaluate for the 2011 season. Pitchers hitting the 90's was a surprise in a Jan. try-out but it did happen. Some 6.2, 60's we ran on that day and a handful of 6.7'S as well. The Southwestern States league filled out 15 player cards so they may contact the players once the league gives the go ahead to sign player to spring training contracts. We would like to thank all of the players for coming out to compete and show their talents. We hope you enjoyed the experience and will tell your friends about us and how we run our work outs. Hope to see you again soon!
Jerry Lehman- SCSI Director
Try-out #2- Feb 27th 2011
All players from try-out #1 who are on the prospects list or call back list may attend at no charge . List is located on the 2011 signings tab on the home page. Any players not listed will need to pay a $40 charge to come work out for the day.

The SCSI Scout Team went 5-0 this last weekend in the Top Wood Bat Division in the NABA Las Vegas Classic tournament. The SCSI team took down the tough San Diego Stars team on a walk off base hit in the 9th by outfielder Rucky McKinley who was named Championship game MVP with 3 hits on th eday and the gane winning hit.
Starter "Jason Stevenson" who is on his way to coming back to Pro ball this year threw a solid 6 innings with 7k's and 3 runs given up. Jason looks to sign with the Maui Pro team in the North American League in 2011 after Caoch Lehman recieved a call telling him that he wants to sign Stevenson. Stevenson made it all th eway to AAA wit the Washington National in 2006 but than fell on hard times. Stevenson is on th eright track and is focused to get back to that level and above. Our relievers did very well to shut the door on the Stars with "Josh Grady" throwing the 7th and the 8th striking out (3) batters and gave up one run. Closer Jason Norderum closed the door with 2 k's in the 9th to hold the Stars so the SCSI team could score the final run in the bottom of the Ninth. Norderum picked up the win.
Championship Game, Winning Pitcher: Jason Norderum
Game MVP: Ruckey McKinley
Tournament MVP: Ruckey McKinley/Steve Varnau
Championship Game, Gold Glove - Chris Valencia
