The Sting teaches fundamental baseball principles and strives to see incremental skill improvements from all involved. It is our mission to tutor players in an environment which stresses competiton, fun, sportsmanship, and work ethic. The ultimate goal of the Sting is to produce quality young men ready to play the game of baseball at the highest levels. We currently have teams competing at the 8U, 9U, 10U, 11U, and 13U levels. Play will resume in the spring of 2010 in the Midwest Ohio Baseball League (formerly the Metro).

****Potential players for their relevant age group cannot have their next birthday prior to May 1, 2010. For information about anything baseball related please e-mail Tim Dunaway at tdunaway4eagle@sbcglobal.net

3. All updated 2010 rosters are now posted on this website! Urgent reminder, any player making a Sting roster regardless of the age group is required to remit a $100.00 non-refundable deposit immediately. If you fail to pay this deposit money by the start of winter workouts you will forfeit your spot on the applicable team. This deposit will be applied to the 2010 player fees with the remaining balance due no later than March 1st of 2010. Checks should be made out to the South Dayton Sting Baseball Club. If you made one of the Sting teams for 2010 your coaches will be contacting you very soon with further details. Thanks in advance!

4. A few insights for moving around and finding information on the Sting site. Each age group has their own section with all applicable games and practices listed on the top of this page. Directions to various parks can be found under locations on this site or on the MWOBL website which is listed under the links tab. Also, you can access your specific team information (eg. roster, stats, schedule, etc.) by clicking on the drop down box in each category and selecting the team you want. Any questions contact Coach Tim anytime.

5. Corporate donations: The South Dayton Sting receives about half the money it takes to operate select baseball teams from corporate sponsorships. Companies and individuals who would like to help out financially are encouraged to contact the appropriate age group coordinator. Any corporation, business, or individual who donates a minimum of $250.00 receives the following in exchange. Name on the website under the sponsors section, name on the team banner, framed team picture, thank you letter, and a follow-up letter. If you know someone who has interest in becoming a donor for the Sting please have them contact the relevant age group sponsor representative, Matt Sundermann/Tim Dunaway (8U), Jim Yerkins (9U), Scott Bussard (10U), Mike Conley (11U), and Tim Dunaway (13U). We can use financial help any time of the year.

6. Fundraisers-Any suggestions and/or help would be greatly appreciated!

7. The Sting would like to extend a thank you to our partners/sponsors for the July 4th tournament this year. Our partner in presenting the event was the Centerville-Washington Township Americana Festival and our title sponsor was WesBanco. We are grateful to have had their assistance this past year and we look forward to working with them next year.

Kettering Athletic Scholarship Fund:

The South Dayton Sting Baseball Club will be contributing $1800.00 from the 2009 Summer Smash tournament to the scholorship fund in Joe's name.

Community Service:

The Sting Baseball Club in partnership with the Americana Festival committee put on the Summer Smash baseball tournament this past 4th of July weekend. The tournament was a huge success and brought people from as far away as Toronto, Canada to the Centerville-Washington Township area. Also, the event was able to showcase the fine park system that Centerville and Washington Township has in place. We look forward to hosting this same event next year and hope to make it even better.
