Welcome to the Southtowns Stars Amateur Hockey Association

STSAHA House Registration is now open the public!  We will have a maximum of 4 teams per Squirt, PeeWee and Bantam division, and 2 teams for Midgets.  We will be limitting the RWB/Mite registration to 60 players.  If you have any questions about our House program or registration, please contact our House Director (Joe Cione) by email (house@southtownsstars.com) or by calling 863-6999.

Registration Process:

To register with Southtowns, you must first register with USA Hockey (See section on website Home Page). Once you have your USA Hockey confirmation page, click on the "HOUSE LEAGUE REGISTRATION" header in this article to be taken to a website where you can register with your appropriate Southtowns division.

NOTE: No player is to register in a division not appropriate for their age!   See below for birth years allowed in divisons.

Returning STSAHA players must have a non-refundable deposit of $250 into the Treasurer by 4/30/13 to hold their spot (see address below).  Non-returning players must send $250 deposit along with a financial release from their previous association (if this applies) by 5/24/13 to hold their spot.

NOTE: Per the Parent Handbook which every parent is REQUIRED to read, the House Association fee (not RWB) covers @40hrs of ice, referee fees for 10 home games (teams typically play an additional 10 away-games too where the other team pays for refs/ice), game jersey and socks!  Any additional ice, ref fees, team apparel, or tournaments are the responsibility of the individual team and thus it's players.

Once at the site, follow the instructions to register.  MAKE SURE YOU ARE REGISTERING FOR THE 2013-14 SEASON!!! 

When prompted, be sure to print out your confirmation page as you will need it to register with Southtowns.

All Travel Team players and coaches must register with with STSAHA by 4/30/13!

All Travel players should have submitted a deposit of $250 upon signing.  The Association Fee balance for Travel players is due by 6/30/13.  Team managers are to communicate payment process to their players.

Travel Fees for the 2013-14 are as follows:

NOTE: Per the Parent handbook wich every parent is REQUIRED to read, the Associationfee for Travel players covers 40hrs of ice, referee fees for 10 home games (any extra ice, refs, apparel or tournament fees are the responsibility of the team and by extension, it's players).  It DOES NOT include game jerseys (only socks)!  Players are responsible to obtain home and away game jerseys.  Team Managers will coordinate jersey orders and submit them to the Apparel Coordinator accordingly (Travel game jerseys were $75 each last season).  Team Managers are also responsible for collecting and turning in Association Travel Fees!

It was announced at the March WNYAHL meeting that NYSAHA has approved an exemption for it's affiliates that allows for "limitted full-ice Mites" for the 2013-14 season.  WNYAHL thus stated that all it's associations that have followed the rules in regards to Cross-ice (Red, White & Plue) programs for 8u players will be allowed to participate in a WNYAHL "Mite Select" division.  Since Southtowns is one of the associations that has been fully compliant with the cross-ice program since its inception, we will be allowed to participate and intend to do so.  Our plan for the Red, White & Blue players will be to place 6u players in cross-ice programs, the 7 & 8 year olds in half-ice programs, and create a Mite Select team from the 2005 players that will compete in no more than 10 full-ice games in addition to their half-ice schedule (additional fees will apply).

We are pleased to announce the selection of our House/MOHL teams as follows:

The Southtowns Stars travel teams will be a part of the WNYAHL and participate in the "AA" Major and Minor divisions.  Our Major teams will be Tournament Bound should the division allow and the team selected be able to compete at such level.  Our Minor teams will be placed in a division comencerate to their ability as decided by WNYAHL (Since there was enough interest,  we were able to create a third travel team in each non-Midget division).  We also created 3 Midget travel teams.  The division the teams play in will be determined by the ability of the team selected at tryouts.
