Angela Delaney (Harker Heights 2014) was 1 of 2 SYE players selected from the Insiders Basketball Classic WNBA and NCAA bracket as tournament standout.

"Multiple players on this star studded team were in the running but when I look back, game after game, Delaney simply showed me something different every time. Not only can she score and get to the rack whenever she wants, she also rebounds and defends hard."- Simmie Colson

GPR ADDS HILL TO THE IBC STANDOUT LIST

Bailey Hill (San Marcos HS) received recognition from Girlz Prep Report for an outstanding showing at IBC. She helped lead SYE Red to an undefeated record and a 1st place finish.

"The organization has shooters galore and Hill showed she could stroke it with the best of them.  Whether its knocking down the midrange jumper or hitting the long one, Hill came up huge in many games and when you add the fact that she can take you off the dribble, its a done deal"- Simmie Colson

GRAY TEAM TAKES FIRST

If you haven't seen the 2013 Gray Team, you need to mark your calendars for the next tournament date because you are definitely missing out on the future of Sophia Young Elite.  It's only the second tournament of the season these 7th and 8th graders are absolutely dominant.

The team competed in Excel Basketball's "Love 4 The Game" Tournament this Sunday in San Antonio. The Gray Team won both pool play games by 40+ points then went on to get revenge on Terrell Select in the Championship game with a 18 point victory. Why revenge? Well after only 2 and a half practices, no chemistrym and limited plays, the Gray Team played in a warm-up tournament 3 weeks ago and lost to a Terrell Select team that had been playing tournaments together since last summer. This time around the outcome was totally different.

Our newest addition, Alexis Popham, was named Tournament MVP. Briana Longoria and Popham both made the Excel All Tournament team and are highlighted on the Excel Tournament website.
