Welcome to "SOONER COLLEGIATE LEAGUE".
"SOONER COLLEGIATE LEAGUE" is an upstart (2006 is our 2nd season) summer college wood bat baseball league based in the Tulsa,OK. area. The goal of the SOONER COLLEGIATE LEAGUE is to provide local graduating high school seniors and area college players the best opportunity to play summer baseball locally in a competitive college league. Due to no Tulsa area college league, local college players had no choice but to be sent by their coaches to other places to play for the summer or they were not playing at all if they had to come back to the Tulsa area for the summer, but now they can stay right here in the Tulsa area if they wish and compete at a high level. They can come back home to their families, sleep in their own beds, work or pick up some college classes during the day and play ball in the evenings. Eventually, the league wants to house players from out of town with local families, and allow them to play in the league. Thus, the caliber of the league could continue to grow every year.
As more high school programs are looking for a place for their graduated seniors to play, especially those that have signed or are signable, this league will offer these college bound seniors a place to play also. This will give those players a place to stay sharp going into their very important fall play in college and the advantage of already having played against college players. We feel this league will be a big step above Legion type baseball. Teams may be a mix or match of graduated seniors and or current college players.
The league will play league home games at *OBRIEN PARK*. - www.obrienbaseball.com - and we may possibly use some local high school fields if and when needed. We will also assist teams with out of league games as well. Team entry fees will include umpires, coach and player insurance, field maintenance and prep, official scorekeeper and game announcer, league web site. Each team will supply their own baseballs.
The Sooner Collegiate Baseball League was organized with the intent of providing members the opportunity to play baseball in a safe, successful, and competitive environment. Adult attitudes must always prevail, no matter how competitive any team is. It is the responsibility of all parties involved in Sooner Collegiate League play to adhere to these principles.
The Sooner Collegiate League could provide a tremendous opportunity for local college and college bound players, but also comes at cost. The Sooner Collegiate League is searching for corporate sponsors who want to be involved with the league, and partner with the league to help make it all possible. If you would like more information on sponsorship of the league, please contact Jonny Henderson at (918)-798-6908 or Jim Mull at (918)-381-2964.
Get involved! Help the Tulsa areas' homegrown talent stay in Tulsa to play baseball!

2007 graduating seniors....this is a great way for you to get some college experience before you even get on campus. If you plan on playing you guys need to get together and form a team or 2. Contact me for any help with this-the sooner the better! We will probably limit it again to 8 teams, 21 game schedule, league games scheduled during the week only-rainouts though may have to be played on a sat/sun. Start JUNE 1st - end around mid-JULY. Only those serious about their future should play - those that are not have been seen to hurt their teams and the league somewhat. Thanks.
