Somerset_Jr_Bulldogs: Welcome

The Somerset Youth Football and Cheerleading League is a non profit organization developed to inspire the youth of our community, regardless of race, color or creed to participate in a vigorous and entertaining activity.

Our objective is to install in our youth the values associated with team sports, and pride, and provide an opportunity for our youth to participate in an organized and supervised environment, where the emphasis is on sportsmanship, family, academics and a spiritual up bringing.

The Somerset Youth Football and Cheerleading League is chartered through the North American Junior Independant Football Federation (N.A.J.I.F.F.).

N.A.J.I.F.F. has been serving the San Antonio and South Texas community since 1969. N.A.J.I.F.F. was the first to introduce a NO WEIGHT RESTRICTION and each team is arranged strictly by age. In addition, N.A.J.I.F.F.was first to introduce a Division I and Division II championship game. An All-Star game is held for each of the following age groups, 11 and 12, 10, 8 and now our 6 year olds.

The Coaching Staffs are comprised of volunteer parents and members of the community who love this game and have tremendous spirit. Coaches are certified through the Kids Sports Network (KSN) or the National Youth Sports Coaching Association (NYSCA), and are mandated to attend the N.A.J.I.F.F. Coaching Clinic for self-improvement on sportsmanship and fundamentals of the game. These volunteers work tirelessly to deliver a first rate experience to your child.    On average football and cheer coaches invest 240 hours each year in practice, clinic and preparation.

" To achieve greatness and all that He has called you to be, one must remain dedicated and focused 'continually' on the task at hand otherwise failure is not an option but a mere destination."
