Solon Lightning Soccer Club: Welcome

U-12 through U-14 teams, Please print the North Olmsted Sportsplex Waiver from the Handout Link and return to your team manager as soon as possible.  We need them before the 1st indoor practice.

Thank you to all of the girls, parents and siblings that helped out at the car wash this year.  We we were able to raise $608 even in the rain!

The Solon Lightning is a girls travel soccer club based in Solon, Ohio. The program is design for girls ages 9-14 with teams U-9 thru U-14. The teams will play an outdoor seasons run from August to October and again from April to early June. Home games played at Orchard Middle School, Solon High School stadium and Donald Payne Park in Glenwillow and away games throughout Northeast Ohio. The indoor season is played from November through March the Multiplex in Warrensville Heights, the Sports Dome in Valley View and the Soccer Sportsplex in North Olmsted.

The Lightning Organization is pleased to announce the addition of Jon Chin as the new Director of Coaching for the organization. Jon has been a part of the soccer world for many years including spending time as the Ass't coach at both the Toledo and Baylor womens programs.

Hello Everyone,
As many of you know we (Jon) has been in the process of reworking our summer training program.  We have attached what we have come up with and as you can see it is much more skill oriented than in the past, which is the emphasis and direction the club is going.  Although there is not a running portion to the new program, the design of the drills along with the conditioning in team training will help achieve the same results as the running in our prior conditioning program. 

We are very excited to get this started and expect a huge difference from the girls this coming season because of the amount of soccer skill that is involved.  WE WOULD LIKE (AND THINK IT IS VERY IMPORTANT) FOR EVERY GIRL IN THE PROGRAM TO PARTICIPATES IN THIS.

THIS WILL TAKE TIME TO IMPLEMENT AND WILL GO BEYOND THE SUMMER BECAUSE OF THE MANY LEVELS INVOLVED, BUT WE WILL HOLD SESSIONS TO HELP THE GIRLS UNDERSTAND THE PROGRAM AND GET STARTED WITH IT.  There still will be a reward system for the girls.
