Russell-Flatwoods Outlasts SOLL Senior Stars, 10-8 in 9 Innings

Wednesday, 7/21/10 -  South Oldham rallied from a 3-1 deficit to take a 7-3 lead after four innings, and was ultimately just one out away from victory, leading 8-7 with two out in the seventh, but a determined rally by Russell-Flatwoods send the game into extra innings and the local squad outlasted South in 9 innings, 10-8.

Tuesday, 7/20/10 - Today's game versus Russell-Flatwoods postponed by rain.  After a rain delay of two hours, Jack Roller took the mound for South to start the game, and retired the first three batters.  South then started off a promising home half of the first when Roller walked.  Caleb Benson was looking at a 3-1 count when the rains came, however, and the game was postponed until Wednesday at 3 pm at Russell HS.  As the first inning was not completed, the game will re-start from the beginning.

If South wins, the team will play again on Wednesday at 9 pm against the loser of the Beaver Creek - Hazard game. 

Monday, 7/19/10 at Russell High School, Flatwoods, KY - South Oldham gave up two unearned runs in the top of the first inning, rallied to pull to within 2-1, but struggled at the plate in dropping their first game in the Kentucky Senior League State Tournament to Hazard-Perry, 7-1.

South will next play on Tuesday, 7/20/10, at 4 pm at Russell High School against the loser of the Russell-Flatwoods / Beaver Creek game.

The South All-Stars, composed of kids from both Oldham County HS and South Oldham HS, will play their first game on Monday, 7/19/10, at 4 pm, at Russell High School in Flatwoods, KY.  Our second game is on Tuesday, 7/20/10, at 4 pm.  Future games TBA.    Watch this site for recaps and pix!
