END ZONE GAME

The End Zone game is played on an area set up to mimic a football field. Mark off two rectangular areas at the end of a much bigger grid to represent each team’s end zone. The purpose of the game is for each team to control the ball into the other team’s ‘end zone.’ The size of the field and the number of players on each team is very flexible.
A team scores a point by controlling the ball into the other team’s end zone. However, while controlling the ball in your own end zone, the opposing team may not pressure the ball. Progress the activity by adding restrictions on the way in which the attacking team can score. Here are some examples:
The attacking team can only score by:
-Dribbling in to the zone
-Passing to a player already in the zone.
-Passing in to the zone to a player that then runs in to the zone (the ball must go in first)
Coach’s emphasis points, work on:
-Timing of runs to support the play, especially in the final third.
-Support play, team shape.
-Getting good pressure on the ball. Deciding where your team wants to win the ball
