7V7 HALF FIELD, MULTI-GOAL

For this exercise, use only half the field and the regular goal as one team’s target. The other team will attack two smaller goals, placed at midfield equidistant from one another. A breakdown of the exercise follows:
THE GAME:
1. A regular 7v7 half-field game is played.
2. One team attacks the big goal with a keeper in the goal.
3. The other team attacks the two, small counter attack goals placed at
midfield.
4. Teams score a point only by scoring in the 'BIG' goal.
5. The team defending the big goal gets their chance to attack it by scoring
in either one of the smaller goals.
COACHING POINTS:
1. Attacking and defending principles. (It is hard work defending the two
'small' goals!)
-Can the attacking team get in behind the defense?
-How is their team shape in attack?
-Do they understand their defensive responsibilities?
-How are they trying to attack?
2. Counter attack.
3. Functional training for virtually any position.
-Is the timing of the runs of the strikers good?
-Do the backs play good balls in to the strikers?
-How is the keeper's communication? Distribution?
-Are the central defenders organizing the defense?
-Is the quality of service from the wide players adequate?
