Wednesday, December 2Holiday Baseball Clinic
Coach Chris Henry's Tuesday, December 29 and/or Wednesday, December 30
Ages 7-9 (as of April 30, 2009), 9:30 am-12:30 pm
This baseball clinic for players, ages 7 to 15, will offer a variety of baseball-related activities over a 2 day period. Players may register for one or both days. Coaches and players from colleges and local high schools will share
their knowledge with the children to hone their skills while teaching them to enjoy the sport. The clinic will offer swing analysis, offensive/defensive drills, base running, sliding, throwing mechanics, pitching/catching, the mental aspect of the game, focus, discipline and sportsmanship, games and prizes. There will be a low player to instructor ratio, so that first-hand knowledge and experiences can be shared. For older players, instruction will focus on the skills necessary in making the transition to the “big field”. Coaches will teach advanced plays and work on game situations that will help prepare these players for the next level. Clinic Instructors include: • Chris Henry, Head Baseball Coach, Kushner Academy, Owner/Manager, Chris Henry Sports Instruction LLC • Larry Busichio, Head Baseball Coach, Columbia High School • Dylan Joyce, P/1B, Amherst College, Columbia High School graduate (2005, 2006 and 2008 recipient of Dan Sansone MVP Award, 2008 Mary Drechsel Award, 2008 1st Team All Iron Hills Conference 1st Baseman) • Jon Buchanan, Certified Softball and Baseball Umpire by the ASA and collegiate levels, experience in the Arizona Professional Independent League • Other local high school players and college players This 2-Day Clinic will take place indoors in the batting cages and the activity rooms located at The Baird. Enrollment is limited to 36 participants per session. Register in person at The Baird or online at www.thebaird.org. Players may register for individual sessions or both dates. If you are willing and able, please sign up when you register your child! The necessary volunteer form (for coaches and ANY volunteer) can be downloaded from the link below. If you have any questions, please come to one of the registration sessions - coaches will be on hand to describe the program in detail.
