- To promote the sport of Lacrosse in Snohomish County Washington, and
- To provide a fun, positive, and enriching experience for players, coaches and parents.
About Lacrosse
Lacrosse is a fun sport that is fast-paced, has lots of action, high scoring, defensive play and running. The sport involves a nice blend of individual and team play and incorporates some of the best aspects of basketball, hockey, football and soccer.
Coaching Philosophy
The boys and girls teams of the Snohomish Lacrosse Club are intended as instructional programs with the primary goal of teaching kids how to play Lacrosse and have fun while learning and playing the sport. There are no team tryouts to join the Snohomish Lacrosse Club. All players will have an opportunity to play and are expected to work hard, respect each other and the coaches, improve their Lacrosse skills over the course of the season, and most of all have fun playing Lacrosse.
Lacrosse Season, Practice and Games
The season runs from early March through the middle of May. The Boy's and Girl's Youth teams begin practicing in February and the High School teams begin practicing in March.
Practices for youth teams are normally two days a week with one game per week, while High School teams practice daily Mon - Fri and play two games each week.
The Snohomish Lacrosse Club competes against teams from much of the greater Seattle area including, Mukilteo, Stanwood, Lynnwood, North Seattle, Bellevue, Mercer Island, Bainbridge Island, Issaquah and Maple Valley, to name a few. The teams practice and play their home games at the Snohomish Freshman Campus. Playoffs take place in early to mid-May and culminate in the Championship week at the end of May. Boy’s championship games for the past several years have been played at Qwest Field and the Girls championships were held last year at Memorial stadium. The Snohomish Varsity girls team won the 2005 "B" Division State Championship, and both the Varsity Boys and Middle School Boys made the playoffs in 2005.
