Helpful Registration Tips:

Below is some general information and tips to make your registration go a little smoothly:

  1. Please make sure you have the downloaded and filled out all the required documentation from below and have it ready to go when arriving at registration. If you do not bring the required documentation from the fourth registration step below, we can not register your child.  You also could lose your First Day Discount!  The forms from the first registration step will be available at registration, but the proofs of age and residency are your responsiblility.
  2. You must present to the registration worker your child's(ren's) Official Birth Certificate(s) for age verification (this is a Little League requirement, no exceptions!!!!).  Only the original with the raised seal of the state issing the cerificate will be accepted, no copies.  We cannot register you child without the certificate and you could lose you First Day Discount.  We will make copies and return the original to you. If you do not have the offic
  3. Most parents, if you drove yourself to registration, should already have at least two proofs of residence, Driver's Licence and Vehicle Registration Card (Vehicle Record).  Some of you may even have third, if your Vehicle Insurance Card has your address on it.
  4. For Proof of Residence, it is one document from each of a choice of categories.  For example, if you bring in three utility bills, we can only use one and you will be scrambling to get the other two.  Pick three categories ahead of time and get one document for each category.
  5. The key to the proof of residence documentation is that it "has your present address on it". By Little League guidelines, we cannot accept documents with different addresses.  Check your documents before coming to registration and please look carefully at the residency guidelines/valid documents from the link above.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call the number at the bottom of our home page or send an e-mail to snll_bb@hotmail.com.

2013 REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS:

Please follow the step by step instructions below to register your child(ren) to play Teeball, Baseball or Softball with our league.

Step 1

Check our boundary map to see if your address is within the SNLL boundaries by clicking here. The league cannot signup players who live outside of the league boundaries, except under the following circumstances:

  • If you are signing up for Softball and live in either Stanton-Newport Little League, Capitol Little League, Midway Little League, or Newark National Little League areas (for boundaries, click map link above), you child is still eligible to play in our league. None of our neighboring leagues offer Little League softball programs, so through agreements with the District, we offer softball for these children.
  • If your child is a returning player and you have moved outside the league boundaries since last season, you child is still eligible to play in our league. You will be required to complete an additional form (Regulation IId) which is available under Step 3 below (see disclosure in red).
  • If your child is a returning player and you no longer live within the league boundaries, however, when you originally registered your child with the league (first season you child or children played with our league):
  • You were living within the league boundaries and;
  • Your child has continued the play with our league from season to season (no breaks);
Your child is still eligible to play in our league. You will not be required to complete the additional form (Regulation IId) located under Step 3 below (see disclosure below in red).  Your appropriate paperwork should already be on file with the league.
  • If your child is a new player and you live outside the league boundaries, however, your child has a sibling (brother or sister) that has played baseball or softball CONTINUOUSLY with our league in past seasons. You will be required to complete an additional form (Regulation IId) which is available under Step 3 below (see disclosure below in red).

Regulation II(d):

The Board of Directors of the Local League (SNLL), with the approval of the player involved, reserves the right to continue as a player, any individual (1) whose residence changes from within the boundary to outside the league's boundary or (2) who lives outside the league's boundaries because of a revision of such boundaries even if the child then resides in the territory of another league.  Current Major League, Minor League or Tee Ball players or any sibling whose brother or sister met the criteria under II (d) at one time may be retained.  Any player meeting (1) or (2) above may be retained for the remainder of his/her career, including Little League, Senior and Big League competition.  NOTE: A player who qualifies under this regulation and elcts not ot participate for a playing season is not eligible to be retained for the subsequent season.

If you have any questions, please stop here and inquire at snll_bb@hotmail.com Otherwise, please continue to Step 2.

Step 2

Check your child's league age by clicking on the Little League League Age Calculator link below and follow the instructions.  For Tee Ball, please select baseball from the picklist. For baseball, players must be league age 5-18.  For softball, players must be league age 7-18.  The league cannot register children who do not fall within this criteria.

You can now compare your child's league age to the chart above to determine which division he or she will play in.  Player Evaluations (tryouts) will be required for all new baseball and softball players (except Tee Ball) and returning baseball or softball players moving divisions depending on the number of teams. All returning players who played in Minor divisions last year and are league age 10-12 will be required to attend player valuations (tryouts) for the Major division. All league age 12 year olds, regardless of individual player evaluations, shall be required to play in the Major Division under Little League regulations (Baseball or Softball), unless a written waiver is approved by the Little League Charter Committee.  You will be informed of the time and place of the Player Evaluations (tryouts) at time of registration.
