Student-Athlete Contract

I do hereby acknowledge that I must attend practice every day that practice is held if I attend school on that day.

If, for any reason, I will not be able to attend practice, on any day, I must come by and check-in with the Head Coach of that sport. I understand that in order for a missed practice to be excused, I must get the Head Coach’s permission to be excused from practice for that day.

I understand that failure to follow these rules will result in the following sanctions:

*        First Practice missed -- I will be allowed to dress out but not
        allowed to play in the next game.
*        Second Practice Missed -- I will not be allowed to dress out nor to
        play in the next game. Parental contact must be made at this time.
*        Third Practice Missed -- I will not be allowed to associate or be
        part of any team function.
*        Fourth Practice Missed -- Dismissal from the team.

Students who are absent or check out of school early due to sickness are excused from practice that day. However, you (student- athlete) are still required to inform the Head Coach if you check out of school early and do not return to practice.   

Additionally, student-athletes have an obligation to do well in the classroom. Therefore, additional grounds for possible dismissal include:
*        Low Test Grades ( MUST MAINTAIN AT LEAST A “C” AVG).
*        Does not complete or do homework
*        Failure to report to class / practice on time.
*        Does not bring materials to class.
*        Insubordination (refuses to obey Coaches and / or faculty members
        instructions).
*        Any fighting; whether it be against a teammate or another student.
*        Disruptive behavior on the practice field or in the classroom.
*        Possession of stolen property, and / or alcohol
*        Hazing(playing abusive or ridiculous tricks on a fellow student,
        frightening, harassing, or subjecting a teammate / fellow student to
        personal indignity).
*        Intimidation of other students and faculty.
*        Indecent Literature
*        Profanity
*        Smoking or other tobacco products
*        Bus Misconduct
*        Failure to Pay Attention
*        In-School Suspension (ISS) for any reason.
*        Out of School Suspension (OSS) for any reason.
*        Choices (half day = two blocks)

Tardies to practice alone or the failure to follow any of the rules stated will result in dismissal from the team. Parents must make arrangements to pick up their child after practice with-in 30 minutes of the conclusion of practice. If a student-athlete is consistently waiting on his or her parents to pick them up later than thirty minutes, he or she may be dismissed from the team.

Parents may schedule a meeting to see a coach at a time that is mutually agreed upon by both parties. However, parents are asked not to talk to coaches before, during, or after ball games in-reference to their child’s playing time or the coaches’ game strategy. Due to past experiences we believe that this is not a good time to conduct a meeting.   

Additionally, NO player is guaranteed a specific amount of playing time.   In fact, some players may play very little.

This contract must be signed and returned to the Head Coach the next school day. If this agreement is not promptly returned you will not be allowed to return to try-outs the following school day.
