St. Mary Magdalen Roman Catholic Church is located in Media, PA. It is part of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. Father Ralph Chieffo is our pastor. There are over 1500 families in our faith community. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass is offered daily at 8:30 AM. There is a Saturday Vigil Mass at 5:30 PM. Sunday Masses are offered at 7:30, 10:00, 11:30 and 5:30pm. The Rectory phone number is (610) 566-8821. The St. Mary Magdalen CYO serves the youth and young adults of the parish. The Mission of CYO Sports is to act as a component of the parish's comprehensive youth ministry program which enables the partnership of parents, coaches, priests, religious, teachers and adult leaders to manage and support a sports program that allows youth to grow in their relationship with God and come to better understand themselves and the Catholic faith. We encourage our volunteers to teach values of faith and character development and to reflect those values in their own actions. At this time, the Fall sport teams planned are Cross Country - boys and girls, grades 2 through 8, Field Hockey - girls, grades 5 through 8, Volleyball - girls, grades 5 through 8, and Soccer - boys and girls, grades 5 through 8. In the Winter, we plan Basketball - boys and girls, grades 5 through 12. Spring teams include Baseball - boys, grades 7 and 8, Track - boys and girls, grades 4 through 8, Golf - boys and girls, grades 4 through 8, Fastpitch Softball - girls, grades 5 and 8 and Lacrosse - girls, gradesĀ 6 through 8. All teams are contingent on having an adequate number of players and coaches sign up.

Coaches Must Attend Archdiocese's Safe Enviroment Training
The Archdiocese of Philadelphia requires that any person coming into contact with the youth of the diocese in any program MUST attend a certified program about child abuse. All of the coaches of the St. Mary Magdalen CYO, head and assistant, are required to attend this program. The Archdioceses participates in a national program of training sessions, the Safe Enviroment Training. These sessions are held at various parishes and one must preregister for the program. These sessions fill up very quickly! To register, one must do this on-line at VIRTUS.org. You must log-on to register and to see what sites are available. To log-on the password, TRUST, must be used to get in initially. The local programs available as of today are 9/13 - St. Joe's, Aston, 9/23 Sts. Peter &Paul, W. Chester, 9/30 St. Dots., 10/4 St. Thomas, Rosemont, 10/9 Sts, Phil & James, Exton, 10/14 St. Pats, Malvern, and 10/26 St. Bernadette's. I believe these all start at 7PM and will last 2-3 hours. At the end of the session, one will be provided a certificate which has to be filed in the parish office by our Athletic Director.
