South Montgomery Girls Softball League (SMGSL) is a non profit organization, which provides rewarding experiences (in life and softball), for girls between the ages of five and eighteen. SMGSL, operated by parent volunteers, is affiliated with the Amateur Softball Association (ASA). SMGSL, in existence since 1972, operates and maintains five softball fields located at the South end of Budde (Pruitt) Road in South Montgomery County.
SMGSL offers the girls of our community an organized fastpitch softball program whereby they have the opportunity to participate in team sports at the recreational, competitive and elite level. Their participation in this team sport helps them develop leadership skills, builds self-esteem, and promotes friendships with girls also interested in the sport of fastpitch softball.
The competitive and elite programs are designed to prepare the girls for play at the high school and college levels. The design of the spring season is competitive and players are also encouraged to tryout for the post-season tournament teams, which play tournaments throughout the summer months. The fall season is considered developmental and the emphasis is instructional. SMGSL also offers a year round program for players who wish to pursue tournament play throughout the year.

SMGSL is an organization exempt from federal income tax under section 501(c) 3 of the Internal Revenue Code. Congratulations to both the 8U Force & 8U Storm All-star teams for bringing home 2nd place & 1st place trophies in MASA's 3rd Annual All-Star Tournament.

It was a very long, hot day- but both teams toughed it out and battled til the end!! GREAT JOB GIRLS!!!
