TSUNAMI CAPS OFF SEASON WITH LEAGUE TOURNAMENT CHAMPIONSHIP!!
The Tsunami girls made their way thru the league tournament with three victories and a combined score of 31-9. Quality pitching, timely hitting, and good defense were the keys to our success.
In the Championship Game, the girls seemed a bit rattled by the pressure of the "big game" and while they flirted with disaster on more than one occasion, ultimately they buckled down and got the win over the Bruins.
Highlights of the game included Tsunami's 3-0 lead evaporating in the 5th inning as the Bruins pushed two runs across on a Tsunami error. We plated another run in the top of the 7th, but the Bruins came roaring back in the bottom. With the bases loaded and no outs, Maddy and the Tsunami went to work. A groundball to Lauren at 1B resulted in a force out at home. A pop up to Maddy got us the second out and then working her way back from a 3-0 count, Maddy struck out the last batter to secure the victory and an improbable run thru the spring season.
Great job ladies!!!

SMGSA Closing Day Set For Sunday, May 20th.
SMGSA is set for its Closing Day Ceremonies on May 20th. Events on tap include the annual coaches game that pits the younger divisions' coaches against their counterparts in the older divisions at 9:00am. This is always a good time, punctuated by ugly slides, pulled muscles, and the like.......plus the girls really like giving their coaches a dose of their own medicine.
Following the game, trophies will be presented for the 1st and 2nd place teams across all divisions. The first championship game will begin at 11:00am with the 8U division and continue throughout the day for the 10U's, 12U's, and 16U's.

TSUNAMI FINISHES WITH BEST RECORD IN SMGSA!!
The Tsunami girls are really on a mission!! Even with our starting SS out of the lineup, our young ladies continued to play at a high level. While Maddy struggled with her control in the circle, all the girls were able to put their bats on the ball. A tight 2-2 game versus the Venom, soon became a 10-2 Tsunami victory. This wraps up regular season play and secures the best record in the entire league (29 teams) for Tsunami. Post-season tournament play begins Monday, with a game against the Dirt Angels. Tsunami's goal is to play in the 10U Championship Game on Sunday, May 20th at Heasley!!

Fantastic hitting, including a grand slam by Lauren, coupled with effective pitching by Maddy were the keys to succes. Congratulations ladies.....you earned and deserve everything you've achieved this season!!

FOUR TSUNAMI ATHLETES SELECTED TO SMGSA GOLD ALL STAR TEAM!!
The ladies of Tsunami must've made a great impression on the division's other managers as four of our athletes were selected to the 10U Gold All Star Team. Mickey, Lauren, Maddy, and Kellie led the way, with two coming from All Fired Up, and one each from the other teams in the division.
Alex and Jules were also nominated, but tournament conflicts kept Alex out of the mix and Jules missed selection to the Silver Team. Marissa was also considered, but she plays in another league and was not eligilbe for consideration in SMGSA.
Congratulations to all of you and our entire team. You've all played like All Stars for me and the coaches all season!!
