·        Arrive at the shack at least 15 minutes prior to the set start time of the game.

·        Bring one catcher’s mitt to the field and bring it back after the game unless otherwise told.

·        Bring the bases back after the completion of the game unless otherwise told.

·        In the event that an umpire cannot make his assigned game, they are expected to contact Reuben (705 207-1458) at least 24 hours before the start of the game.

·        Bring necessary uniform and equipment such as OBA Shirt, grey pants, brush, ball bag, clicker etc.

·        Tuck in your shirt.

·        Stick to your calls.

·        Be Loud!

·        Have Fun!

All umpires are expected to enforce the following rules:

·        Time Rule:

          o   No new inning after 1 hour and 45 minutes.

          o   Game is over after 2 hours no matter what inning, count, number of outs, or score. In this case the score at the completion of the last full inning completed will be used.

·        Mercy Run Rule:

          o   All divisions except for Mosquito will abide by a 5 run mercy rule. Mosquito will abide by a 3 run mercy rule.

·        Infield Fly Rule:

          o   The infield fly rule applies only when there are fewer than two outs, and there is a force play at third or second (runners on first and second base, or bases loaded). In these situations, if a fair ball is a hit that, in the umpire's judgment, is catchable by an infielder with ordinary effort, the batter is out regardless of whether the ball is actually caught in flight. The umpire shall announce "Infield fly, batter's out!" or just "Batter's out!"

·        Mosquito Rules:

    o   Base runners will not lead off any base until the ball has crossed home plate. o   In the case of a catcher dropping the baseball on a called third strike the batter shall be called out and shall not be allowed to attempt to advance to first.
