The South Lyon Junior League is a non-profit organization, solely volunteer, that is focused on working with the youth of the South Lyon, MI area to help develop and provide instructional guidance in the areas of baseball and softball. Our organization is open to all individuals that have a desire to play recreational baseball and softball. The range of our In-House programs are from 4yrs. of age to 14yrs. of age.
The league offers a spring program (mid-April until mid-July) and a fall program (mid-August until mid-October). Open Registration for the spring program begins in early January and ends in late March. Registrations are accepted through our on-line service, mail-in, and through a one-time offering of a walk-in registration.
For the fall program, registration begins in mid-July and only accepts on-line registrations as there are limited positions. More information for our fall league can be found under the Fall Ball program in the menu at the left.
Along with the In-House divisions, we also have numerous Travel teams starting at the 9U level on up to 16/18U level for both boys and girls. Try-outs are generally held in mid- to late-August. Please see our calendar of events for the tryout dates and times for each age level.

Matt Douglas/Abby Dolan Award Recipient
Every season, the South Lyon Junior League presents a special award to one individual on each team that best represents, what we feel to be, a true sportsman. This award is called the Matt Douglas Award for boy's, and the Abby Dolan for girl's.
This award was established many seasons ago for a young boy that loved and worshipped the game of baseball. His ability to play the game was cut short by a debilitating disease. The 2008 season marks the first year of the Abby Dolan Award. Abby is a former SLJL player who's career was cut short by Ewing's Sarcoma a type of bone cancer. Abby continues her fight against this disease. To honor them, each team is asked to select that one player that shows passion for the game. They are that individual that makes every game and every practice with the willingness to play and learn. They are team players and show great sportsmanship even when they are in a slump. They are the one that shows love for the game.
