Local Treasure Mike Sirbas Passed Away Saturday Morning
Crown Point, IN- Mike Sirbas, a local hero in the softball community passed away after a long battle with Cancer this morning, Saturday, July 25th, 2009. I knew Mike, but not as well as his family, co-workers, and close friends. I know he was a good man and we lost him today. I knew him like most people knew him, as a volunteer, a league official, umpire, and coach among other things. Mike was involved and engaged in community affairs. He was quiet, devoted, and inspirational. He was an example to everyone in the softball community of how we should act, coach, volunteer, give, and care. He left us that legacy to follow.
