Skyline U13 B1 (3) vs Eldorado Hills Trojans U13 B1 (2)
Skyline faced off against El Dorado Hills Junior team on Witter field last Saturday and came away with a victory. Neither team was able to score in the first quarter. The second quarter started with the Trojans striking for 2 goals. Skyline answered with a single goal in the second quarter to complete the first half scoring. In the 3rd quarter Nathan Kruger, with an assist from Graham Dean, evened the score at 2 goals apiece. A minute later Peter Christopolis, fresh off the injured reserve list, scored with assist by Skip Hill to take the lead for good. Skyline’s attack was supported by Andrew Parker’s 7 clean saves and first time defender Julian Cortes strong defense.

Skyline U11A Trojans 12, Berkeley Bears 4
After a rough start to the season, the Skyline Trojans prevailed in Saturday's early morning game against the Berkeley Bears at Bates Field in Berkeley. It didn't take long for Trojan players to start making their mark: Jack Ditzler led the way with three goals and one assist, Trevor Link and Elijah Lonner contributed two goals each, and Drew Collins, Wesley Yost, Quinn Porter, McKinley Clemmons, and Lorenzo Chiodo all chipped in one goal each -- with Collins and Yost also assisting on two other occasions. Key assists by Graham Brennan and Calvin Polvorosa also helped cement the Trojans' lead. Goalie Wills Bird made one valiant save in the second half.

Skyline U-11A Trojan's Narrowly Defeated by Diablo Scorpions
In a close game, Skyline scored two goals to Diablo's three. Goals were scored by Calvin Polvorosa and Jack Ditzler with assists by Drew Collins and Elijah Lonner. Star goalies Jack Ditzler and Wills Bird had six and five saves respectively.

Skyline U11A 5, Lamorinda Burn 6
On Sunday, Skyline lost a tough match that wasn’t decided until that last few seconds of the game. Going into the second half with a 2-2 tie, the Burn pushed out to a 6-4 lead but Skyline kept coming back but couldn’t score the tying goal in the final minutes of the match. Trevor Link led the way with three goals and Jack Ditzler scored the other two to set the high water mark for goals this season. Attacker Matthew Kaplan added an assist. Middies Drew Collins and Lorenzo Chiodo made some spectacular plays and there were some stellar defensive moves by Graham Brennan, Calvin Polvorosa and Isaak Sparks. Two goalies kept the team in the hunt till the end with Jack Ditzler making 4 saves and Wills Bird making 2 more.

Skyline junior B2 Black 11, Lamorinda Bolts junior B2 3
On March 15th, the Skyline junior B2 Black won their first game of the season at the Bentley high school field with a decisive 11-3 victory over the Lamorinda Bolts junior B2 team. The Skyline Black further developed their offensive sets based on passing, quick ball movement and persistant offensive pressure to more than double their offensive output of the season. Alex Firestone and Adam Brown-Bryant set the aggressive offensive tone in the first minute of play with each scoring goals off of evasive rushes through the Bolt defense. Michael Pacult led the Skyline Black scoring with 4 goals and Adam Brown-Bryant added two goals after his initial one. Patrick Jimenez, Joey Moyer, and Cole Fanning-Haag also added accurate strikes into the Bolt net. Emerson Sadler lead the team with two assists, and both Joey Moyer and Patrick Jimenez had assists from nifty passes in traffic. The Skyline Black goalies were outstanding, as Cameron Dominguez made 4 saves in the first half and Ethan Kwan made 5 saves out of 5 shots in the second half. Alex Firestone and Joey Moyer led the team in face-off wins, while Dean Christiansen, Cole Fanning-Haag and Hunter Abel lead the team in interceptions. Momentum changing defensive stops and/or stick checks were made by Hunter Abel, Grant Adams, Cameron Dominguez, Michael Pacult, Guy Laufenberg, Dean Christiansen, Alex Firestone, Joey Moyer, and Adam Brown-Bryant. Hustling scoops of loose balls were recorded by Carson Armstrong, William Gustke, Emerson Sadler, Patrick Jimenez, Hunter Abel, Dean Christiansen, Alex Firestone, and Cole Fanning-Haag.

Diablo junior B2 Venom 13, Skyline junior B2 Black 6
On March 14th, an undermanned Skyline junior Black B2 team played a spirited and hard fought game against the Diablo B2 Venom at the Diablo Vista field. The Venom scored the majority of their goals in two 5-minute stretches, and the final score did not reflect the intensity of the game, the constant offensive pressure and the end-to-end action. The Skyline B2 Black used a new offensive strategy that resulted in exciting ball and player movement, and were only down by one goal at half-time. Michael Pacult lead the Skyline Black with 3 goals, and Cameron Dominguez, Ethan Kwan and Brent Adams each chipped in with one goal. The Skyline Black had ten other shots on goal that were saved by the Venom goalie. Both Joey Moyer and William Gustke made strong accurate passes for assists, and both made several evasive rushes through the Venom defense. Cameron Dominguez made four saves in the first half including an acrobatic kick save, and Ethan Kwan made three saves in the second half. For the third game in a row Dean Christiansen lead the team in interceptions and Alex Firestone lead the team in face-off wins. Strong aggressive stops and/or stick checks at strategic times in the game were made by Hunter Abel, Dean Christiansen, Guy Laufenberg, Cole Fanning-Haag, Joey Moyer, Alex Firestone, Emerson Sadler, and Michael Pacult. Quick hustling scoops of loose balls were made by Grant Adams, Hunter Abel, Carson Armstrong, Emerson Sadler, Joey, Moyer, William Gustke, and Cole Fanning-Haag.

South Marin Wolf Pack 13, Skyline U11A Trojans 1
Skyline’s U11A team continues a tough start to the 09 season with a loss to South Marin at Tamalpais High School field on Saturday afternoon. Skyline held tough with improvements to team playing each quarter, but the Wolf Pack took advantage of missed Trojan passes to dominate possession of the ball. Trevor Link made the only goal early in the first quarter - the assist was by Matthew Kaplan. Goalie Wills Bird worked hard to keep the ball out of the goal and came away with 7 saves in the game. Skyline’s U11A team continues to work hard to earn their first win.

Boys U13A Opens With a Tough Loss
The Skyline Lacrosse U13-A team suffered a stinging loss to very powerful appearing Firehawks team from Redwood City on Saturday. Early in the game Skyline offered a quick response with a Drew Bonnin goal after an early goal from the Firehawks after the opening face-off. From that point it was a very physical game with jarring body checks provided by both teams. Additional Skyline goals were provided in the first half by Peter Lally and Alessandro Chiodo but that proved to be the extent that Skyline was able to penetrate the Firehawk swarming defense. Skyline's goalie #42, Chase Betta, was kept busy by the Firehawk attack and provided some exciting saves. The final score, 15-3, was a disappointing season opener on the road. A wake-up call that the U-13 boys are in a very competitive league this season.
