Welcome to the official site for the Four Counties Regional Girls Football League. We are a competitive girls and young ladies Football (soccer) League playing in England. We operate in an area ranging between Chesterfield in the south to Bradford in the north, going eastwards to Hull and Grimsby. The purpose of this site is to keep our players, their Clubs and supporters informed about the League and its activities. The site contains general information about the League and its philosophy and constantly updated information which should be useful to Clubs and managers as well as players, their families and supporters.
ABOUT US
The Four Counties Regional Girls League was originally formed in the 1992/3 season, as the Sheffield & District Ladies Junior Football League. The 1994/5 season brought sponsorship from Yorkshire Electricity, an arrangement which was beneficial to the development of girls football in the Region. Yorkshire Electricity sponsored the League for two periods of three years, and the League took the operating title of the Yorkshire Electricity Ladies League during that time. At the end of the sponsorship agreement with Yorkshire Electicity, the League was approached by Skylark Leisure, a local Indoor Football Arena company, who wished to sponsor girls football, as a result of that sponsorship the operating title of the League changed to Skylark Young Ladies League.
THE LEAGUE IS CURRENTLY SEEKING A NEW SPONSOR.
OUR MISSION
It is the mission of the Four Counties Regional Girls Football League to promote girls and young womens football throughout the Region, for the purpose of developing female football players who wish to play, either as a recreation, in competition or to develop to the standard required for International consideration.
OUR GOALS
To provide football opportunities to girls under statutory school-leaving age.
To increase player skills, abilities and knowledge of the game.
To enable players to achieve their personal playing potential.
To instill positive, competitive attitudes and sportswomanlike behaviours.
To develop Regional Representative squads at all levels, and to test those squads against other Leagues or Centres of Excellence.
Are you a North American or European girls team organizing a visit to the UK? Then why not give us a go?
