Bat-A-Thon Fundraiser

T-Ball, Minor 7/8, Minor 8-11, & Major League players will

participate in a Bat-A-Thon as the fundraiser for their divisions.

The top teams will receive a trip to a Tacoma Rainier’s game.  To

find helpful information about what a Bat-a-thon is and how it

works, visit the John Benko Bat-a-thon web site.

The Bat-A-Thon will be held at Art Mikelsen Field on April 25th

and May 2nd. Players and their families solicit people to sponsor

the player and their team. Some people give flat donations, most

make pledges, such as one cent per point. Each team is assigned a

time slot on Bat-A-Thon day. Each player receives a set number of

pitches from a pitching machine. After the Bat-A-Thon, players and

families go back to their sponsors and collect their pledges.  Players

will have the opportunity to earn awards and prizes which will be

presented at an Award Ceremony on June 14th at Art Mikelsen Field.

Each manager must recruit a Bat-A-Thon Coordinator for their Team.

Volunteer to be a  Bat-A-Thon Team Coordinator .  The coordinators'

duties are not difficult, but they are very important to the success of the

program.

Bat-A-Thon Coordinator's Duties

The Bat-A-Thon team coordinator must be positive, energetic and

pleasantly persistent.

All guidelines, instructions and materials will be provided to the

coordinator. They must read and become familiar with these materials.

parents at a team meeting April 9th- 12th. The manager will assist

with this presentation. (This should be scheduled after a game.)
