Coach Bios

We have a great group of coaches at Skagit Volleyball Club this year!  Check out their coaching bios below!  We like to pair multiple coaches for each team to provide better individual instruction and flexibility.

Chris Tesarik is in his second year of coaching U12s at Skagit.  He is currently the head coach of Sedro Woolley High School and is excited about growing his program at the youth level.  In the past, he has also coached JV at Mount Vernon High School.

John Moore will be coaching in his seventh year for Skagit this year, having coached the same core group of girls with his wife Sarah from 7th-11th grade, and was the U14 Black head coach last season.  John is thrilled about coaching U15s this year, continuing to grow in his coaching experience.  In his non-volleyball life, John works for Janicki Industries.

Aaron Young is entering his third year coaching for Skagit Volleyball Club, continuing to be a mainstay at the U14 age level. Aaron is a substitute teach in Sedro Woolley, Burlington, and Conway. In the past few years he's gotten to help out here and there with summer volleyball and camps with Sedro Woolley and Mount Vernon schools. He played volleyball competitively for 20 years, including 10 years spent as a setter of a highly competitive men's team. He is also an active beach volleyball player. His love for the game is always passed on to the players he coaches.  Outside of volleyball, Aaron has a knack for adventure and waterfall exploration.

Haley Beiermann Bio coming soon!

Debbie Guildner was the varsity coach at Mount Vernon High School for nine years (2002-2009, 2013-2014), where led the team to state appearances in 2007 and 2013, their only two appearances since 1996. Prior to being the head coach, Debbie was the MVHS JV coach for six years (1995-1998, 2000-2001). Debbie also coached volleyball at Sno-King Lutheran School shortly after she graduated from college.  She also has coached club at Skagit in numerous different seasons, coaching U12s while she was coaching at MVHS, and U14-U17 in her hiatus as head coach. In college, Debbie participated in volleyball in track at PLU, before finding a niche in crew, where she was a member of the best flyweight rowing boat on the west coast.

Kailyn Morse is a 2011 grad of MVHS who played club for Skagit for 6 years! Kailyn spent two years as a varsity outside hitter, and is played outside at Whatcom Community College in 2014. Kailyn is excited to learn and grow with the opportunity to be an assistant coach this year, as she was thrust into a head coaching position out of necessity in years past.  Outside of volleyball, Kailyn is an aspiring flight attendant (and we think she will be a great one!).

Alicia Guildner is our club director and will be coaching older girls again this season.   Alicia lead the U17 team last year, U16s in 2014, and U14s in 2012.  Prior to that, she assisted with multiple teams within the club.  Alicia played club for Skagit for 6 years, from 2001-2006.  She was a two year varsity setter  and senior captain at Mount Vernon High School, and has stayed involved in the sport since then by coaching and reffing.  In 2009, she was the U16 head coach of Forest Grove Ohana in Forest Grove, OR.  Alicia is also the Tulip Festival Tournament coordinator.  Outside of volleyball, Alicia works at Riverside Health Club in Skagit County, with a love of instilling healthy lifestyles in young people.

Charlie Guildner started Skagit Volleyball Club in 1995.  Since then, he has spent 2 years as the head coach at Mount Vernon Christian School (98-99), and a multitude of years helping with the Mount Vernon High School program (on and off between 2002-2014), where his wife, Debbie, was the head coach for nine years.  He has been coaching for Skagit for 20 years at every age level (U13-U18), and also spent many years as a high school official.  While Charlie isn't coaching on a regular basis, you may see him around the gym, and is the financial director of Skagit VBC.

Stephanie Morrell coached U16 and U17 at Skagit in 2007 and 2008, and was the head coach of the U13 in 2013, and a U16 assistant in 2014.  She was a three year varsity setter and team captain at East Valley High School and played club volleyball for Team Yakima and the Cascade Volleyball Club.  She also coached U18 at SIVA in 2009 and was a camp coach at the 2009 NBC Volleyball Camp in Spokane.  Stephanie works for the Bellingham Bells baseball team, and since she is so busy with her position there in the spring, she is our "on-call" coach, ready to run a practice here or there for our regular coaches when they can't make it.  You will see her around!
