The skeleton team, 9 1/2 players, finished the tournament with a 4-1-1 record. They started off the tournament with a 2-1 win over the Southern Cal Assassins. In game two they defeated the San Diego Stars, 6-0. Saturday the Vipers defeated the Bloomington Bulldogs, 13-0 and had a 7-4 loss to the California Rockies.

The Vipers finished 2nd their pool. They then played the 1st place team from the other pool, the Irvine Pirates. Tim Busbin stepped up and pitched 6 2/3's innings; Danny Dyer came in and pitched to the last batter for a Vipers Victory, 6-2. That sent the Vipers to the Championship game, where they took on the California Rockies once again.

In the Championship game, Danny Dyer, Jon Karcich, Nate Garcia, and Tommy Medica pitched. The Vipers tied the game up at 2-2 in the top of the 7th and held the Rockies scoreless in the bottom of the 7th. The two teams then played 2 innings of the international tie-breaker. Tommy Medica pitched both of the tie breaker innings for the Vipers. After 9 innings of play, with a the score still tied, 4-4, the sun had set on a long holiday weekend, and the game was called. The Rockies took home 1st place, the Vipers took home 2nd.

CONGRATULATIONS on a well played weekend Vipers! Special thanks to the families of the "9 1/2" players who made the trip to Palm Desert.
