2012 tentative baseball schedule:

Baseball Evaluations - 2/25/12

Draft - first week of March

Practices - second week of March

Opening Day/Parade Day - 4/14/12

No games - 5/24/12-6/1/12 (Race/Memorial Day week holiday)

Final week of regular season - 6/2/12-6/8/12

Tournaments begin 6/9/12

Championship Games - 6/15/12-6/16/12

Tee ball open house and Softball evaluations will be conducted on Saturday 2/26/11.  Some things that we need parents to do before end of the events on Saturday include:

Register/Payment (if not done so)

Confirm contact information

CONFIRM UNIFORM SIZE FOR JERSEY! (Ordering next week so this is critical)

TeeBall information:

Games - To be played beg 4/16/11 each Saturday through 5/28/11.  Games will start at 11a and run for roughly one hour. Games played at Meadowood Park.

Practices - There will be no more than 1 practice per week to be scheduled at coaches discretion.

 Ages - Must turn 4 by May 1st, 2011 (insurance does not allow us to take anybody younger).  6 year olds will be evaluated and through coordination with parents be assigned to either TeeBall or Rookies. 

Misc - While playing TeeBall against Speedway Junior Baseball TeeBall teams each batter will get opportunity to hit three under hand tosses.  After three ball will be placed on tee.  When interleague play occurs with Eagledale ball will ALWAYS be placed on Tee (per insurance requirements).

February - 2/19/11 Evaluation/Instructional Camps (tentative), Parents Meetings (to be held per division, site and times TBA), Draft

March 1st - Practices begin, Mon-Thurs, Sat

PARADE DAY - 4/9/11 Parade, Jamboree, Pictures

OPENING DAY - 4/16/11

REC SEASON CONCLUDES 5/21/11

TOURNAMENTS BEGIN 5/24/11 AND CONCLUDE 6/11/11 with CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES AND END OF SEASON CELEBRATION (note, goal is to have most tourney games played before Memorial Day weekend to avoid vacations, end of school, etc.  NO games Memorial Day weekend)

CAL RIPKEN DISTRICT TOURNAMENTS IMMEDIATE FOLLOWING JULY 4TH WEEKEND.

1/14/11 - Girls Varsity Home Basketball Game

1/21/11 - Boys Varsity Home Basketball Game

1/15/11, 1/22/11, and 1/29/11 at Library 2p-4p  (Revised 1/11/11)

Evaluations/Camp - February (to be split by age groups)

4 yrs to 6yrs Pee Wee/Tee Ball

7 yrs to 8 yrs Rookie Coach's Pitch

9 yrs to 10yrs Minors

10 yrs to 11 yrs Majors

Presidents Note - each child will be evaluated to determine which division is suitable.  Before any decisions are made whether a child moves from one division to another parents will be consulted by our Coaches Executive Committee and/or SJBS Board.  We have several interleague opportunities available so we will not spread kids out just to make additional teams but more importantly make it a great experience for our kids.
