How do YOU think you did today? You KNOW what the coaches, players and spectators thought of your performance. Review this handout to periodically conduct a self-examination or assessment of yourself as a referee.

Prepared by Mel Smith (HURRICANE ENERGY), January 2001 - Revised March 2006

NFHS v USSF

A MicroSoft 'WORD' file listing the differences between NFHS (High School) Rules and USSF (Laws (for U-17) based on current (1/20/2006) data.

Please feel free to download, copy, use, disseminate - but if you do, please make proper attribution. (That means make sure you mention who authored it - and send me a note of thanks on a $50 bill - wink, wink!!)

New 'quiz'

Don't open the attached file until you have at least given a reasonable attempt to provide your own 'answers'; that would be USB otherwise!

Here's the scenario:

Blue #8 plays ball.
Ball out of play.
Blue #8 plays ball.
Ball out of play.
Blue #8 plays ball.
Ball out of play.
Blue #8 plays ball.
Ball out of play.

Nobody else played the ball during this sequence.
No Law 11 or Law 12 infractions.
Each restart taken properly.

What happened? Two results, please.

Game Cards (report sheets)

I made these game cards instead of buying and using commercially produced cards. Print and trim - they fit my 'wallet' perfectly. Your printer settings may require that you make minor adjustments.

Misconduct Reports

Had a caution or ejection? If so, you'll need to know HOW to write a Misconduct Report.

Prepared by Dan Anderson, USSF Grade 6, September 2000

Apologies to Dan for inadvertently erasing the attribution last week. Having been aptly chastized, I now willingly, and with gratitude, restore it.
