Preparation (warm-up).

Take a group of players and number them from 1 to 15 ( or how many players you have to work with), then player 1 throws the ball to player 2 who catches it and then throws it to player 3 and so on , until the ball reaches player 15 who then throws it back to player 1 and repeat. As soon as the player has passed the ball he has to run to a new position, and the only thing he has to think of is who he receives the ball from and who he has to pass the ball to. Once this drill has been understood then add another ball to the group, so players 1 and 5 have the balls and pass to their respective partners and continue the drill, always running to find a new position once the ball has been passed, once this drill has been mastered then add yet another ball, so this time players 1, 5, 9, have the balls and pass to their respective partners. Keep adding balls until the drill breaks down then start with one ball again and restart.
Now the drill is understood put the ball on the floor and player 1 passes the ball to player 2 and so on, each player has one touch only , as with the previous drill add balls until the drill breaks down or the balls touch.
This drill can be done in many different ways, each player must pass the ball on the half-volley ( one touch of the ball after the ball has bounced once on the floor), on the volley (one touch with the ball never touching the floor), every player one touch but left foot only, right foot only, etc.
The drill is only as limited as your imagination.
This is a typical pro training drill within constant movement, good number of touches of the ball, good talking and vision and variety.
They would call this type of session a preparation drill, because as well as warming -up the players physically, it makes them talk, think, so preparing them for the coming game related training like functional attacking drills, defensive drills, dead-ball drills, etc.
