The U16 team, coached by Sheila Evans, went undefeated this weekend to take the U16 title at the Pickerington GBA tournament. 12 teams were entered in the U16/17 age division, and were divided into pools of three teams. On Saturday, the Lady Flames beat Muskingham Valley and Team Ohio, the two teams in their pool, to take the #1 seed slot in the single elimination tournament on Sunday. On Sunday, the Lady Flames had a sleepy start, but were able to beat Ohio Express by a score of 43-31. In the second round, the Lady Flames met the Hawks Delinger team and won 54-37, winning the chance to try for the title. The title match was against the Dayton Vipers and the Lady Flames were victorious, once again, with a final score of 45-21. What a great start to the 2006 AAU basketball season!
