Lady Flames take U16 Title at Pickerington GBA Tournament
The U16 team, coached by Sheila Evans, went undefeated this weekend to take the U16 title at the Pickerington GBA tournament. 12 teams were entered in the U16/17 age division, and were divided into pools of three teams.
On Saturday, the Lady Flames beat Muskingham Valley and Team Ohio, the two teams in their pool, to take the #1 seed slot in the single elimination tournament on Sunday.
On Sunday, the Lady Flames had a sleepy start, but were able to beat Ohio Express by a score of 43-31. In the second round, the Lady Flames met the Hawks Delinger team and won 54-37, winning the chance to try for the title.
The title match was against the Dayton Vipers and the Lady Flames were victorious, once again, with a final score of 45-21. What a great start to the 2006 AAU basketball season!
