April 18 - 19: Sudden Impact '96 goes 6 - 0 to win the ASA Combat Series Tournament at Sprinker Park in Tacoma to capture the organization's first Championship for 2009. Featuring timely hitting and very good team defense, Sudden Impact outscored the opposition 61 - 4 en route to winning the tournament.
May 2 - 3: Sudden Impact '96 continues it's winning ways by getting to GOLD Championship Game at ASA Sidewinder Spring Invite and finishing in 2nd Place. With tremendous baserunning and good pitching, the team's Championship run is impressive but just falls short as the girls drop the final game to the hard-hitting very tough Washington Hurricanes team.
May 30 - 31: Sudden Impact '96 plays up in the 14U ASA May Final tournament at Riverview and has a really good showing against older competition. With a large field of teams competing for the Silver Championship, Sudden Impact '96 takes a respectable 3rd Place losing 4 - 0 in the Semi-Final game against the eventual champion, Khaos.
June 6 - 7: Sudden Impact '96 Qualifies for ASA Nationals!!! The team has worked hard all season long, from indoor training in the winter, to lots of practice time on the diamond this spring (some of it soggy). That hard work has paid off as their Metros run has earned them a berth to the ASA 12A Nationals in Normal, Illinois. Congratulations ladies for a job very well done!
July 18 - 19: Sudden Impact '96 plays up and wins it's first 14U title by going 4 - 0 to capture the ASA Combat Series Tournament at Sprinker Park in Tacoma. The team featured a solid offensive attack, good baserunning and excellent team defense. The highlight of the weekend was a Triple Play in the Championship game against the aggressive Issaquah Flame 95 team. Sudden Impact outscored the opposition 36 - 6 en route to winning the tournament.
July 27 - August 2: Sudden Impact '96 finished its 2009 season by playing very well at the 54 team ASA 12 "A" Western Nationals in Tracy, California. The team raced out to an undefeated, No. 1 seed in pool play with exciting victories over Strike Zone and So Cal Heaters. Unfortunately, a tournament championship was not to be had as the team suffered through a very tough loss to Livermore Extreme and ultimately posted a .500 record for the week losing in bracket play to some pretty strong California teams. The fantastic ride of the 2009 season has come to an end with the promise that the 2010 season will be even better.
