Sidewinder Little League: CAPS

What is CAPS?

• CAPS stands for Community Action Program of Sidewinder.

• CAPS is getting the SWLL Community together to make a difference with fundraising, volunteer efforts to benefit others, and teaching the youth the importance of volunteerism and giving back to the community.

• CAPS was created by our former president, John Hew, and it is a wonderful concept.  There is a huge opportunity to do so much and get everyone involved year round, not just in the spring, and truly act as Community Action.  CAPS is awesome and includes Junior Members (no time like the present to mentor leadership).  Together we organize charity drives, as well as events that will provide an opportunity for everyone in the SWLL Community to give back.  Volunteering time is just as essential as giving a monetary donation, and this gives our youth a chance to participate paying it forward.

• CAPS has many ideas for the future, including:

- To assist with the Opening Day Ceremony (ODC)
- To add at least one more scholarship (last year two were presented for $500)
- To organize a blood drive
- To organize several charity drives throughout the year
- To help out a SWLL family in crisis
- To volunteer at events (we are looking into partnering with the American Red Cross)

CAPS needs your help to make it successful.  If you have any suggestions or ideas, or know someone interested in joining CAPS, please contact us at

Thank you in advance for your support!!!
