Yawkey Baseball League of Boston
The Yawkey League was established in 1990. Our 15 team league consists of talented college and post-collegiate aged young men who live in the Greater Boston Area. We play a competitive 32 game schedule during the spring & summer months each year. Our league only plays with wood bats, the way the GAME was intended to be played. Although it seems that the YBL is a new amateur baseball league, we have deep roots in a longtime Boston baseball tradition. Since our beginnings in the 1950's, we have been known as the Boston Junior Park League, Boston City League and the Twilight League. We are honored to play our annual All-Star game at Fenway Park. We have been blessed with the strong support of the Boston Red Sox & the Yawkey Foundation, which was established in honor of former Sox owners Tom and Jean Yawkey. Our league is named in honor of these two heroes, whose generosity continues to assist inner-city people.

ESTABLISHED IN 1984
The McKay Club entered the Junior Park League now the Yawkey Baseball League in 1984 as a Dorchester & South Boston based franchise. The Team was known as Mill Stream at the time. Thru the years, Mill Stream/McKay Club has drawn its talent from both communities & the former Columbus & Don Bosco High Schools in Boston.
The team expanded its horizons in the late 1990's. Players were recruited from Metro-Boston & other states, Colleges & Universities.
The McKay Club has always been blessed with exceptional talent. Two current players remain from the Inaugural 1984 Season: Player - Coach, Mike Kazmouski of Dorchester and SS/P, John Pagel of South Boston. The team has had many opportunities for the "big prize". The hunt for a league Championship lingers after 19 years.
McKay Club were at or near the top of the JPL & YBL during their tenure. The team made the League Championship Finals in 1993, 1998 & 2000. Each time they were defeated 4 games to 1. East Boston ('93), Cambridge ('98) & Somerville ('00) were the Champs in those series.
