On the behalf of Birmingham Youth Hockey I wanted to thank you for allowing us to play in your great Tournament. We had a good time and the kids truly enjoyed the competitive atmosphere. I think you do a remarkable job keeping parity with in a group. My PW team played three of four games and we were with in one goal in those games. The kids and parents had a just a wonderful experience. We are looking forward to next year. Please keep us in your mail file.

I just wanted to take a minute and write to you (and please pass this email on to all the volunteers who made the Country & Western Showdown Tournament possible) - what an awesome experience for our youth hockey players to participate in such a great event!!!   I know that you and your team spent countless hours prior to and during this past weekend, sacrificing your time, energy and other opportunities to instead devote to the teams playing in the C&W - and we want to say a huge thank you for all you did -your effort often goes thankless, but our players and families have some great memories that will last a lifetime because of what you have done!

My compliments on the Squirt 14 division, so many of the teams were very, very close in talent and level of competition, the scores and the quality of the games were great - you did a great job in pairing this division. In our first 4 games that we played there was never a 2 goal lead for either team - 12 consecutive periods of play with either a tie game or a 1 goal lead or a 1 goal deficit - incredible!   Its exactly the competitive environment you want for your players, where every single shift really counts and the competition is pushing you to your limits!

Thank you again for another great end of the season tournament - what a way to finish a year by playing in the C&W and having the fun of the Olympics Showdown.    You have once again put on a great program and its great to see you continue the legacy of your family and your involvement in youth ice hockey. We wish you the very best in the off-season and look forward to next spring when we can return again to the Country and Western Showdown! On behalf of all the players, coaches and parents of the Louisville Storm Squirt travel team - THANK YOU to you and everyone involved on your volunteer staff!

Great Job in running a super tournament in Nashville this past weekend.  We were in Div 10 Bantam and you did a great job in matching up teams in our division. It came down to two Nashville teams but all games in our division were competitive-making for an exciting tourney. Thank you for your hard work and making it fun and competitive for the kids.

Dear Brian and Whitney,

I wanted to thank you for putting together the C&W Showdown Tournament this past weekend.  It was a lot of fun for the kids and to my knowledge everyone was pleased with their rooms at the Prime Hotel & Suites.  There were no traffic problems that I am aware of and the earlier concerns of a few of our parents were unfounded.  Other than the fact that I spent the whole time in bed sick, at least the bed was very comfortable and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

 Happy New Year!  Just a note to let you know that we enjoyed the tournament so much!  It was one of the most organized tournaments we ever been too.  The skills competition was one of the best organized I have ever seen.  Before we left my parents were asking how long it would take I said about an hour and no one believed me until we were done with the skills and pin trading within an hour!  I am going to recommend your tournament to our organization for next year.  The Doubletree hotel was more than helpful and pleasant!  I want to Thank you for all your help in getting us in at the level we did I know that was a job for you and I really appreciate all your help!

Dear Brian,

 I wanted to write to say “thank you” for a wonderful tournament experience during the County & Western Tournament March 2-4, 2007.  My children’s teams have been participating for the last 4 years and this year was the most fulfilling experience in all the years. First, to put the Huntsville Rocket teams in a House League division proved to be great for our teams.  We do not expect to play in a tournament and “blow out” every competitor but would like to know we can “hold our own”.  This year proved to all the kids and parents that there are teams that we can play against and not worry about being disappointed at the final score.  The House League division is a great addition to the tournament and I hope you will continue with that for future tournaments. All of the Huntsville Rockets teams stayed at the Opryland Hotel and our family especially was very pleased with the accommodations.  In past years, we have not been able to get a balcony room without paying an extra cost.  This year everyone I talked with had a balcony room and was very happy with that.  If you negotiated that amenity when you blocked the rooms, I would hope you would do that again next season.  It makes the down time more enjoyable as personally I sat on the balcony for about 5 hours and was able to read a book (which for me doesn’t happen very often!). One last note about the tournament I would like to let you know about.  Our schedule was fabulous.  We, as a family, were able to enjoy NOT running back and forth to the rink for the games and activities.   Thanks for all you do to help promote hockey and I look forward to returning next year.
