Shore Regional Little League continues volunteer incentive program for 2009
Shore Regional Little League instituted a volunteer incentive program beginning in 2008. Under this program, each family makes a refundable payment for each player in the league. The payment is then refunded upon completion of a volunteer activity by the player's parent. Activities range from serving in league management positions to team coaching to working in the concession stand for only six hours per year. You can see the complete list of possible volunteer activities on the Volunteer Preference Form under the "Forms" link on the left.
For 2009 the refundable volunteer incentive payment has been set at $75.00 per player.

Why Shore Regional Little League is better than other youth baseball programs.
|
Why Shore Regional Little League is better than other youth baseball programs.
-
By design, Little League baseball offers benefits to players of all abilities. At its core, the purpose of Little League is to provide a safe, fun, wholesome combination of recreation and competition to players ages 7-16 through regular season play among local teams. For those players whose skills are more advanced, the Little League International Tournament provides the largest sports tournament in the world, with more than 40,000 games played each summer on the road to the various World Series tournaments.
-
Little League baseball is the leader in child safety. Each Little League program must have an approved safety plan in place. This plan covers coach training, equipment and field inspection and requirements, volunteer background check procedures, and accident response procedures.
-
Little League baseball is the leader in coach training and player development. It is not enough for a youth baseball coach to have been a good baseball player himself. Coaches must undergo training so that they can plan and run practices that develop players of all abilities. Little League is the only youth baseball program that requires such training for coaches.
-
Litttle League baseball is the leader in fairness. All Little League programs draw their players from areas with similar populations and all Little League programs in the world use the same set of rules. This allows the fair competition between all teams in the same division. Little League coaches are chosen by a standardized procedure designed with the benefit of the players in mind and Little League players are drafted using a method that ensures fair compettion among the teams in each division.
-
Shore Regional Little League draws its players from the same communities that send students to Shore Regional High School so that the friends made in Little League will be classmates in the future. Shore Regional Little League also works with the Shore Regional High School Baseball program so that players who wish to play for Shore Regional will be well-prepared.
