South Highline National Little League: My Site News

Friday, April 6

The future of our league lies in the hands of parents with younger players.

Little League Baseball / Softball / Challenger is an organization that relies almost entirely on volunteers to help ensure that the organization remains structured and runs smoothly.

What you see during Little League games is a mere fraction of what takes place behind the scenes throughout the season. Just look around and you’ll quickly realize all the work that our board of directors put in. Below is just a small example.

  • Player registrationPlayer evaluation weekend
  • Equipment maintenance and purchasing
  • Uniform inventory and purchasing
  • Organizing the season opening Jamboree
  • Scheduling games and practices
  • Sponsorship and fundraising

Did you know about half of our 2018 board members will not be returning for the 2019 season? Most of these board members have spent numerous years donating their time to the league. It is time for parents with younger players to step forward and fill the vacant seats that will be open for the 2019 season.

No experience is required to be on the board. In fact, the best volunteers are those who are able to bring added enjoyment to the game simply by being themselves.

You can volunteer to help in virtually any aspect of Little League Baseball or Softball. if you are interested in volunteering for a board position, please email Scott Hougham -

Thank you,

2018 SHNLL Board
